We booked several months in advance but still received a text from Jane to ensure we would show. We would have been happy to arrange a deposit but she was happy with our word to show up.
Initial service was a little rapid/possibly impersonal but relaxed once we had ordered both food and drinks. Local asparagus was in season and prevalent on the menu. Its known effects were significant suggesting it was of excellent quality although slightly chewy!!
The quantity of food was, for us, a bit too much in terms of the amount of meat served. A little less meat, duck and beef in our cases, could have been replaced with more seasonal vegetables to make a more rounded meal.
The Rioja Crianza was delicious and matched our mains.
The restaurant was busy and you certainly need to book. We don't think you will be disappointed as it was really a good dining experience.

We managed to get a booking for this restaurant and we were not disappointed. A small restaurant but lovely inside run by a fantastic husband and wife team. We arrived slightly early and were asked just to wait outside as our table was being prepared due to covid restrictions. We were shown to our table, the walls are covered in prints and paintings from local artists, which you can buy.

The food was exceptional, very good quality, well prepared and presented. My wife had the asparagus starter with local goats cheese. I had the black pudding confit pate which was delicious. For mains we had the jerk chicken and the lamb rump again with excellent. For dessert my wife had the rum and white chocolate roulade which was an absolute picture and did not disappoint on taste. Even the black coffee was of excellent quality. The service overall was excellent as well made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Well worth a visit but you will need to book in advance.

My wife and I had a superb evening meal, the sea bass fillets were so tasty on a delicious risotto and crayfish base and my wife enjoyed her rump.of lamb

Of all the places we visited over the whole week the Covid arrangements were the best and made us so feel secure and relaxed which contributed to a very enjoyable evening

Based on our experience would highly recommend

Enjoyed a very delicious lunch of crayfish risottos followed by meringue glace and melon sweet for me and peach ... strudel for the other half.
Pleased to see Andy and Jane back and busy (Fri lunchtime - booked solid Fri evening!)
