Beautiful hotel - building, grounds and rooms were lovely to look at and be in. The gardens and verandah were a particular treat. We stayed in room 47 for three nights and room 31 for one night. The views from both rooms were described as "garden view" and they overlooked the lovely garden. However, that description did not do it justice as we also had a spectacular view of the sea, also.
However, we did feel as though we had checked in to a retirement home as very guest seemed to be of a certain age. We were assigned a dining table upon arrival and were not allowed to change throughout our stay. The evening meal was c£40 per head and there was no alternative bar menu available while the evening meal was being served in the main dining room - i.e from 6.45pm onwards.More
