Just returned from a long weekend at St. Augustine Villa and would highly recommend it. Room was excellent, clean and with great views.Loved the antique bed and the original features of this hotel, credit to Esme and Bob. Would highly recommend this hotel for all of the above and its location. Thank you to for a great weekend.

Thank you to Bob and Emms for a great stay in Ventnor over the past few days. Every single thing was nothing less than perfect. We hope to see you again soon. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to stay in the whole of Isle of Wight.

Our first time on Isle of Wight. Booked over phone, very straightforward. We selected St Augustines from the TripAdvisor reviews. It matches exactly. Owners Bob and Esme are very welcoming and achieve the right mix of friendliness and service.we stayed in room six, cracking sea views. The lighthouse description is right. The bathroom is quite big and doubles as a wardrobe/ dressing room. Very comfy bed. Breakfasts were ample and plenty of choice. Residents lounge the best place to access the Wifi. We would have no hesitation in staying there again. Really enjoyed it.

An excellent B&B! In a superb location a stone’s throw away from the sea front, this is a great place to stay. The owners, Esme and Bob, were friendly and welcoming and we booked easily over the telephone. Upon arrival we were initially quietly concerned about the amount of parking but this very quickly proved absolutely no bother or worry at all whatsoever.

The room was spotlessly clean and tidy with a good sized shower and large, fluffy towels. The four-poster was incredibly comfortable and generous in size and the hospitality tray has clearly been invested into as it included absolutely sublime instant hot chocolate (have since bought the same brand for at home!) The sofa and table was a nice touch as we were able to sit together when we got in in the evening (another chair was available) or we could use it to do work at whilst using the wi-fi during the day. The television in the room was an excellent size which makes all the difference when trying to watch a programme in the evening. The room had stunning views that you could even see from sitting up in the bed so it was the perfect way to wake up or to just simply sit, look at and admire.

The breakfast room and joined conservatory offered, again, stunning views of the sea. We were able to watch the boat race around the island from the breakfast room (a nice surprise as we were unaware of the event when we booked!) and the breakfast itself was beautifully cooked – perfection on a plate. As well as a cooked breakfast, we were offered tea, coffee, juice and cereals as well by our friendly and warm host.

Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want to explore Ventnor and the surrounding area. We strongly recommend!

We try and stay at the St Augustine's once a year as it really is an escape from the rat race. Three night here certainly recharges the batteries !
I'm always reluctant to review this place as we have always regarded it as our secret hidey hole but judging by the other reviews the cat is truly out of the bag by now.
St. Augustine's is unique; ideally situated with wonderful views and Bob and Esme the perfect hosts.
We don't mind you sharing the experience as long as we can still get booked up !!

W e managed to get last-minute availability for this place ......How lucky we were !

First impressions count for a lot , they say . So we were off to a good start by virtue of the faultless location of the property . Believe me ,this is in an ideal spot for those who like to be near the sea , pubs , and all else Ventnor offers . The place itself , is a Victorian "Italianate" villa , of a build style that is evident in other Ventnor properties - same builder , perhaps ? - and it is well-kept , and very pleasant , and this impression is confirmed on arrival to the room . We were met with a friendly welcome from the proprietors , Bob and Esme , who were always attentive without being obtrusive . They want you to enjoy your stay and it shows . Nice people , for sure .

The room itself , afforded a great face-on sea view - some rooms I believe look a bit sidewards to the sea - and were immaculate and most comfortable indeed . Breakfast was a good "Full English" , which successfully torpedo'd my hunger untill the sun was well and truly over the yard-arm . Other options are available , if you really must . There are cheaper places to stay , but I'm sure not to this standard and location . I say this was worth every penny it cost .

It is located near the bottom of the winding road at the South end of The Esplanade , and there is a convenient set of steps down to same from the front garden , which is as stated not only well-kept ,but has a few picnic tables and benches for when you just want to sit and watch the sunset , or , as I did , stargaze with binoculars . There was an event on for a couple of evenings whilst we were there , the "Ventnor Fringe festival" , where the bandstand opposite was converted to a bar for the duration , with music and artists etc., and , being as we are not night-owls by any means , we are pleased to report the double glazing is of a very good standard and cuts out any unwanted noise to a more than acceptable degree . With ear-plugs , we heard absolutely nothing at all - complete and utter silence , although to be fair , the earplugs are a personal thing and you could've slept without 'em easily . Car parking for about 4 cars is available on-site , however , plentiful parking on the Esplanade is available very close by , and is free of charge from 18h00 until 08h00 if you arrive back late and get "bowled out" for a spot on - site .

I can't fault this place , for neither service or quality , so I can heartily recommend it . I've said it before , and I'll say it again with the greatest of pleasure ......if you don't stay here you're missing a treat . I can't wait to return .

Yet another enjoyable stay at this wonderful hotel. Bob & Esme were yet again excellent hosts. The breakfasts were well presented with a good variety of choice & served efficiently in the conservatory with its view over Ventnor harbour. As usual my wife & I stayed in room 7 with its superb view of the bay.
