we stayed for 3 nights in this perfectly positioned B and B. Esme and Bon were very welcoming and friendly and there was lots of information available on things to do for those not familiar with the area. The room had wonderful views across the Haven and beachfront and was extremely comfortably furnished . The 4 poster bed ensured a restful sleep and the sounds of the waves made it even better. The breakfasts were excellent , particularly the fresh fruit salad and excellent coffee. We hope to return next time we are visiting family in the area.

Room Tip: room 7 has views across the harbour and beach as well as a 4 poster bed

A business trip that included my wife as company. Excellent accommodation, room was a real delight with a nice theme that linked into Ventnor. Loved the antique 'Hat Boxes' on top of the wardrobe. Our accommodation was booked by (Business) people we were visiting. They certainly knew what they were doing. Excellent breakfast (cooked by Bob) with nice views over the small fishing harbour. Very clean and this showed in the quality of the bed linen and towels. Bob and Esme excellent Company.
Rooms downstairs were great and if you like looking at books this is the place to stay. Will return later after the summer rush. if you are on a business, ample parking, nice eating places and a couple of nice pubs Don't go home without getting some brown crab meat at Ventnor Haven Fishery, literally a stones throw away!. My only regret is that I forgot to add my comments into the visitors book. Hope this makes up for it. John and Cindy Periam. Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex.

Room Tip: Great rooms. If you like a sea view ask if there is a room with one available when you visit.

A really wonderful old Bed & Breakfast Hotel in a lovely seaside position right on the Esplanade at Ventnor.

The hosts are really friendly and professional.
We stayed at St Augustine Villa for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and on the morning of our Anniversary the Hotel presented us with a cake decorated with icing balls that represented Pearls.
They also helped our son with arranging flowers and wine to be delivered to our room for the day of our anniversary.

We stayed in room 6, The Tower Room.
This room is at the highest point in the hotel and has the most amazing view of the sea and the Marina.
Plenty of stairs to get to the top but well worth it.
This room has a private bathroom with whirlpool bath and is directly below the bedroom and is accessible by interconnecting private stairs.

The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice.
Try the fresh fruit salad, 'Delicious'

Will definitely be making a return visit sometime soon.

Room Tip: Room 6 has excellent views of the Sea and Marina

Others have commented favourably on the views, position and overall quality of this hotel, but it's the hosts that really make it. Bob and Esme's welcome, and friendly, relaxed yet informative approach mean that within a couple of hours you feel absolutely at home here. And yes, it's perfectly positioned; sea front 30 seconds down hill, shops 30 seconds up. The acid test: Would return? At the drop of a hat. Superb.

We arrived at St Augustines on a wet, windy Friday afternoon. However, our welcome could not have been warmer.
Bob and Esme are the perfect hosts, fun and friendly without being overpowering.
Our room was great with the most lovely sea views.
A high point each day was being served a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast in the conservatory. (Do try Bob's poached eggs - a special treat!)
We can't wait to pay a return visit.

100 mph winds and a storm didn't spoil 3 lovely nights stay at St Augustine, a warm welcome superb room at the top of the tower with great views out to sea, great choice and of breakfasts enjoyed in the conservatory with more stunning sea views, we love staying on the Island and would recommend anyone thinking of doing the same to spend and night or two in this great friendly hotel.
