“Perfect location for peace and tranquillity”

We like isolated places but then a car is a necessity if you want to explore the rest of the island. The cottage had certain disadvantages: the floors sloped, it was cold at night in the bedroom and steps up and down to each room would be a pain for those with old knees!
Everything you could possibly want was provided inside the cottage, including a welcome pack of food. The log fire was effective in the lounge and the hot tub was brilliant, with its view of the newborn lambs frolicking against the background of hills. There are some good walks to be had from the cottage if you don't want to go too far. The owners are very welcoming and helpful.
We expected wi fi access but this was not possible.

Many thanks for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I thought I had fixed the WiFi problem for you as you didn't get back to me to say it still wasn't working - sorry for this. It is now sorted! You didn't mention the bedroom being cold during your stay - again we would have been very happy to sort this out (the problem was that the radiator in the living room was turned up too high). Many thanks again for your feedback.

Stayed here for 3 nights, absolutely amazing! Both owners are so lovely and helpful! Welcome pack of bread butter and jam was lovely! Cottage was such a hidden gem and hot tub is fab. It is out the way, but we liked that, taxi to douglas is 12-15 quid. Really enjoyed the stay already planning to return

What a delightful cottage. Although we only stayed 3 nights, we had a lovely first visit to the island and the cottage is very central for getting around - though a car is essential. It was well equipped and very cozy. My friend ventured into the jacuzzi whilst i enjoyed a glass of wine overlooking the moorlands in the early evening. Would definitely book this cottage again!

“Very lovely, very quiet but not suitable for people with mobility issues.”

We have just had 2 quiet weeks at the cottage. There is everything you could wish for at the cottage and the bedding is high quality. The bed was sooo comfortable it was difficult to get up. However on the down side, although the add said entrance was not suitable for wheelchairs, the whole cottage is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. It is built on such a slope that every room has steps to go up & down and they were big steps which would have been better had there been hand holds but there were none. The lounge & bedroom floor also slopped, the bedroom especially. The patio and hot tub was a bit disappointing as it was right alongside the main driveway so no privacy. If you are in full health it is a lovely place to stay and the owners are very friendly as are the cats & chickens.

Many thanks for your feedback. We updated the listing to make it clear that the cottage is "not suitable for small children or those with reduced mobility, due to sloping floors and steps between rooms." The slopes are because the cottage is an original Manx stone cottage built on a hill. We also updated the photos of the patio area to show that it is next to the driveway.

Perfect little cottage, with stunning views of the Island. Well equipped and comfortable, a home away from home. We loved our holiday, Island life and the Manx way, it hard not to relax and take things easily in such an exceptional surrounding.

Many thanks for the feedback and we are looking into ways to improve the central heating in the bedroom before next winter as just a few guests like yourselves have found it not quite warm enough during particularly cold weather. (Although many others found it tto be fine).

“Couldn't ask for more”

We booked the cottage as it was good value for money and as a young couple a hot tub with a view sounded romantic. However, when we arrived everything about the cottage was mesmerising and we couldn't decide which was the best bit!

We arrived at the cottage and were immediately greeted in a friendly manner by the owners. They made sure we were comfortable & knew how everything worked, and then we were handed a woven willow box with some traditional Manx food such as a Ramsey loaf, Manx butter, Manx milk, 2 fresh eggs from the on site chickens and 2 pots of marmalade. We could not have been made to feel more relaxed and at home.

When we were going out the cottage itself was down a long country road which seemed daunting in the dark, but in the day it was very beautiful and a part of the outing I looked forward to. When you came out of the road Ramsey was around 15 minutes away and everywhere was very easy to get to. There wasn't much open as it was winter times so no tourist attractions were available, but we made the most of beach & harbour walks and had great fun skimming stones & watching over the spectacular views.

The cottage is up a steep slope which at first is quite scary, but is well worth it when you see the view. To top this off, the hot tub is in a prime position to watch out over this wonder and no matter how cold it was outside there was no way we weren't going to sit in and make the most of it.

The bedroom was beautiful and big, a spacious double/king size bed with pillows I'm currently on a mission to find after my stay. It had wardrobe space, a desk with 3 mirrors, patio doors out onto the decking where the hot tub is placed and a comfy chair if it's too cold to watch the view outside. The lounge was massive with a sofa area, a log burning fire, a huge tv with lots of channels and a DVD player with a range of DVDS to borrow, a dining table & a coffee table kindly supplied with fruit and biscuits. The kitchen was again big with all the gadgets you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, boiler all laid out in a sophisticated style. The bathroom was small but also had everything you need, and was a good use of space to make sure the rooms you spent time in were as beautiful as possible.

I couldn't recommend this place more and hope to come back again soon in a warmer part of the year so we can go do everything we missed out on this time.
