I travelled on the steam railway when i was last on the island 20+ years ago,so being back & now having a young family,we had to travel by steam.
First train of the day 9,50am Douglas to Port Erin,2adults & 2children return ticket £37.50 under 5's are free..journey takes around an hour, few stops along the way, great countryside on a sunny day.
Port Erin, really nice station, nice little town, great little seaside bay, brought back fond memorries..
Great day out..

Try it, it's splendid. Ramsey is worth a visit, the museum on the station fills in any time needed to wait for a train. A long and interesting journey, made especially interesting for me as the train was double headed diesel and steam, and included a flat truck loaded with Peel cars, the smallest production car ever.

Travelled on the Pie and Peas special. very good meal. Seemed a bit expensive at first sight but when you consider the rail fare within the price, it makes it a better deal

Travel into the past on this Victorian method of transport. See the countryside and get off by the beach in Port Erin or at one of the stops along the way.
A bit expensive unless you buy an Island Explorer Pass.
