“Superb *****”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2013

My partner and I stayed for two nights and we are very fussy people used to spending a lot of money on hotels to make sure we have everything we need. However, the Ellan Vannin provides everything you will ever need and is great value for money. We stayed in one of their best rooms at the front of the hotel with a sea view. The room was very clean, bright and well furnished with a great view of the sea. The staff are great, really friendly and professional. Great choice of breakfast in a really well equipped breakfast room which would make any hotel proud. Lots of parking spaces out front and you are given a free parking permit. Highly recommended *****

Room Tip: Parking is limited to two hours a time on the prom, so move off and come back or park in another spa...

We stayed one night in a gorgeous room with stunning views out over Douglas Bay and the Tower of Refuge. The welcome was warm and friendly and it remained like that from the moment we arrived to when we left.
Breakfast was excellent. A really broad choice, with plenty of fresh local produce on the menu.

I would highly recommed this hotel to anyone visiting the Island and will definitely be going back again.

Well done, Ellan Vannin - keep up the amazing work!

My partner and I visited the Isle of Man for New Year 2013 for three nights and this is where we stayed.

The hotel is located no more than 2 minutes drive from the port which was handy seen as when we arrived in Douglas, it was very early in the morning (probably even too early for the birds!). The hosts were very friendly and the rooms were spacious enough and comfy. The bathroom was very clean and the breakfasts on a morning were really nice and hearty. There is also a kind of living/sitting room on the ground floor with big, comfy sofas and a large television which was a Godsend for me as every evening, I was always ready way before my partner was so chilling downstairs on the comfy sofas watching the World Darts on the big telly was a very welcome diversion.

The only real negative for me was when we arrived at the hotel, we got up to our room and it was absolutely freezing. The heating had obviously not been put on which was a shame seen as the weather was awful and we'd got drenched getting from the port to the hotel.

To sum this review up; a lovely, clean hotel in a great location with wonderful hosts who can't do enough for you.

Paul and Pauline have obviously worked very hard to get their hotel up and running, and have thought of everything a traveller could possibly want. Other people's reviews are very positive, and say everything that I could say, so no point in repeating. All the staff are excellent, and will do all in their power to help. They even organised a day's car hire for us from SmartHire - the car was brought to the hotel by a very friendly and helpful young man, then collected from the hotel the next morning, no hassle at all. When I go back to the Isle of Man, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

Lovely hotel on the boulevard. We didnt book a seaview room but got it because it wasnt occupied. So we got a free upgrade. Breakfast is generous. Staff is friendly and willingly to the help. Room was nice and cleaned nicely everyday. The only downpoint was the early check out (before 10)

We loved this hotel, the hosts were very gracious, the hotel was well run and clean. The location is right on the Promenade; it was close to the shopping street and restaurants. Breakfasts were great, loved the smoked salmon.

Room Tip: If stairs are a problem, make sure you notify the owners as there is no lift.

Stayed for two nights, received a friendly welcome on arrival, we arrived early but were allowed to check into our rooms as they were ready, much appreciated. I had a single room with a beautiful sea view, very clean and comfy. Availed of the cooked breakfast in the mornings - set you up for the day ahead. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Would happily recommend.
