“A Happy Visit”
Reviewed 9 February 2014 via mobile

Having read a previous Trip critique slating this establishment, I approached my visit with trepidation. It was only my friends saying that I should ignore the bad revue. I am glad that I did.
We were greeted at the door by a smiling member of staff, who took our coats & showed us to our table & left us with menus & a wine list. We were asked if we would like a drink & we ordered a nice bottle of a Marlborough Riesling, which arrived with prawn crackers & a sweet chilli sauce.
The owner took our order & we opted for one of the Banquet Menus. There are four ranging from £16 to £22. He asked us if there was anything we would like to change on the menu, we opted for noodles instead of rice.
The service was both excellent & friendly.
Altogether we had a great evening & we will return.

“Horrendous!”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Wasn't greeted by anyone when we walked in and was left hovering around for 5 minutes, eventually we went over to the staff and told them we had a booking to which they pointed to our table and didn't even walk us over to it. We sat for 30 minutes with no drink! Eventually we got served so ordered a set menu when we ordered the wine. Another 20 minutes later still no drink but our starter came and we had to ask for our wine. The waitress couldn't get the top of the bottle which was a screw top so we took it off her and served ourselves. We ate our starter which wasn't great and after finishing for 5 minutes the waitress came over with a bowl of water with lemon so we could wash our hands. We waiting again and eventually the next serving came which was crispy duck. We ate the duck and again was left waiting and waiting until we eventually got fed up and walked out before the main meal came. We arrived at the restaurant at 7.15pm and walked out at 9pm! There were people we knew on another table who actually took their dirty dishes to the kitchen themselves! O and to top it off the CD they had playing kept sticking. Would not recommend to anyone! Shambles!

“Consistently good, lovely manager and staff. Great food.”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

Would recommend this Chinese to all. Fantastic little restaurant which is very popular with the locals. Businesses hold their Christmas parties here and couples and families always welcome. The service is great and the manager genuinely wanting to ensure you have the best experience at his restaurant. The food is great and always lots of it. Very good value for the IOM.

“Perfect tapas and drinks”
Reviewed 14 October 2013 via mobile

We found it about tripadvisor and just can recommend it!!! Perfect drinks, nice staff and the best tapas I've ever tasted. Great spice, nice ambience and you can choose between private talking and the street life of Ubud along the monkey forest street. Laughing Buddha welcome you anytime with a great offer of Balinese food and its best cocktails. Try the pineapple mojito and the fetta cheese rolled in banana leaf! Perfect! Unfortunately our last days on this island, this wouldn't be our last visit at this cultic bar! By the way: the blues band live music could rest here for hours!

Dont be off put by how this restaurant looks from the outside tucked at the back of the main high street, it's fab. The owner is very attentive and so willing to provide you a great experience and the food is wonderful. Make sure you book in advance, well worth a visit
