During a recent visit to the Isle of Man, I met up with a few friends at Jaks Bar and Steak house who had heard the food was good.
Whilst the menu was straight forward and basic I decided to have a burger (not something that I order very often when out) but as I was informed the owner also owned the local butchers so I at least I felt that it would be a good quality burger.
Alas it can only be described as a rubber version associated with poor quality cheap cater packs from the 1970`s! the type also associated with late night burger vans outside the nightclubs or outside football stadiums on a Saturday afternoon where the smell alone is enough to put you off.
There are some fantastic street food operations happening in and around the UK offering some good quality produce, alas this restaurant needs to research what is happening on the fast food scene and realise we have moved on and that customers require and expect a higher standard of food quality in such establishments!.
The bun was dry and old (and no effort to even brown/toast the bread on the cut side to help improve its eating quality). Just a thin distorted rubber meat Patti stuck between two slices of old bread!
On a positive note the chips were good.
The plate containing two compartments were also impractical to eat from.
