Surely the best way to travel between Douglas and Ramsey. On a fine day, an open 'toast rack' carriage is perfect for enjoying the views, both coastal and inland. The best scenery is between Laxey and Ramsey. Change at Laxey for the Snaefell Mountain Railway. The Victorian carriages of the MER aren't designed for 21st century sizes (height, in my case, not weight) and their wheels squealing on frequent sharp curve check rails can be a bit irritating, but these are minor issues. Great fun and warmly recommended.
