We stayed in a double room with a great view over the square - great value for money. Rose and Theo were welcoming and extremely friendly. The hotel is clean and the food was fresh and tasty. Our room was on the second floor and cleaned every day during our stay. The hotel is in a very good location, close to the prom and close also to the Villa Marina and the Gaity theatre and near a bus-stop. However, the shops, museum and the bus station are all within easy walking distance. The owners are very professional and concerned that you enjoy your stay, we thouroughly enjoyed our break and would recommend this hotel to anyone because we appreciated the fact that 'nothing was too much trouble'. When we return to the Isle of Man, we will certainly contact Rose and Theo and hope to be able to stay at the Arrandale again.

  • Liked — Friendly personalised service offered by a family run business

Rose and Theo were great! They couldn't do enough for us - in fact they managed to squeeze us in at very short notice! I took my 80 year old nana for a short break (I'm 35) during the Grand Prix practice week. The hotel is very clean and friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. Our room was on the second floor and cleaned every day during our stay, we had a sea view and although the stairs are steep with no lift my nana managed admirably. The owners are very knowledgable about the area and gave us lots of helpful tips and advice about things to do and places to visit. The hotel is in a very good location, close to the prom (although up quite a steep hill) and close also to the Villa Marina and the Gaity theatre. The shops, museum and the bus station are both within easy walking distance. It is a 5 minute taxi ride from the sea port. The owners are very professional and concerned that you enjoy your stay, my nana thouroughly enjoyed her break and would recommend this hotel to anyone because she appreciated the fact that 'nothing was too much trouble'. We will certainly contact Rose and Theo next time we have a break in the Isle of Man and hope to be able to stay at the Arrandale again.

We had a lovely warm and friendly welcome from Rose and Theo.
We stayed in Apartment 4 and found it very clean, nicely furnished and with plenty of cooking utensils/crockery. It over looks the beautiful flower gardens in the square to the front and gets the sun all day long, making the lounge and bedroom really bright and airy. The hotel and apartments are about a 7 min walk up hill from the promenade, (keeps you fit), however this does give the advantage of having a great view of the port and lighthouse in the bay, and the hills to the south of Douglas.
We recommend The Arrandale and would certainly stay there again.

We have just returned after spending a week in Douglas. The welcome and service at the arrandale was excellent. The owners are very friendly and knowledgable about the area. The hotel was clean and comfortable the only draw back being the very steep hill to get to the hotel which may not suit everybody and no lift. If you have young children they can provide highchair and cot. We would stay again at the arrandale.
