“Top Class Eaterie”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Our crew of seven sailed into the harbour in the early hours of last Saturday morning and by noon we were more than ready for a meal. We strolled along the North Quay in the sunshine and looked at all the places to eat. A smartly attired man sitting at a table in the outside dining area at the 14 North, saw us looking in and told us that he ate there regularly and highly recommended the place. We pushed a couple of tables together and were soon being looked after by a well turned out attentive waiter and waitress. The fact that it was a warm and sunny day made our lunch a very memorable and pleasurable experience. The wine was excellent, the food was spot on and we all hugely enjoyed the couple of hours that we spent at 14 North, a restaurant that is a great asset to the Isle of Man. The experience left us with a very good impression of the island and we all hope that we will be able to return one day.

“Fab location, food & service!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We loved our experience at this restaurant.. from the location on the marina.. to the excellent food.. and more than anything the outstanding friendly service provided by the staff.
The menu is not massive, but what they do serve is quality. I'd return for my ham hock terrine- wholegrain mustard, pear chutney & toasted focaccia starter which just melted your taste buds. For my main it was a tough choice as they do flatbreads (think handmade pizzas) & 7 or so large plates.. I went for the lamb meatball flatbread- tomato sauce, chilli, mint, crème fraiche, mozzarella & rocket. It was very tasty, but I think my wife won the day with her excellent pork belly- red cabbage, paprika potato galleo, cider & apple jus, which I was lucky enough have a taste off. Outstanding!
So no prices for guessing what I'd have next time I return!

“NIce restaurant in Central Douglas”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

We ate at 14 North twice during the recent TT's we enjoyed both meals, the staff were great particularly Jamie, it is quite expensive but not outrageously so.
The starters are the highlight of the menu, beautifully presented and a very high standard, the main courses were rather heavy and lacked imagination, my Duck was very tender but the presentation was dreadful, large spoon of red cabbage, topped with a very large spoon of mash, with a duck breast balanced on top, come on boys you can do better than that. We could have done with some green veg on the plate etc. Sweets were good, great pannacotta.

“Local food with a twist...”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

The menu is full of local produce served in an original style. Our main courses were delicious, monk fish from the specials board and a mushroom, leek and gruyere filo pastry tart. Desert was disappointing (the honeycomb on the cheesecake was tough enough to break your teeth!). Service was friendly, not too intrusive. A good restaurant for couples or a larger party. Make sure you don't get the table next to the front door or toilet. This is a great little restaurant.
