“A gem”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

Amazing restoration and run by volunteers. A bit exposed in the cold and cafe at the end can be difficult about bringing your own food which is a pity as let's face it this is not a commercial venture. Live and let live. Nevertheless the trains are an amazing piece of living history and the station is beautiful as is the setting. Worth a visit.

“Lovely little railway”
Reviewed 16 April 2013

This is a lovely little railway 'going uphill to the sea'. Good prices. Runs on Sundays only and there is a little cafe at the far end selling simple sandwiches and pre-packed cakes plus tea and coffee. Access the the main station is a little tricky on an uneven path in a glen, but I believe that they are trying to improve this. A nice day out.

“A GREAT LITTLE RAILWAY”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

This great little railway is run by volunteers. Take a ride from inside the glen and travel out along the coast, the views are stunning. During the summer it runs at weekends and one evening a week. Through out the season special day are organised, such as The Easter Bunny Train and especially the three days of Christmas Specials which attract over 3000 people. Fantastic steam train ride and good value for money.

“A bit different on a nice day”
Reviewed 3 November 2012

To be fair the line is only a mile long but the walk down to the line from the road takes you back in time . The train ride is only short and the only thing at the far end is a cafe on the cliffs , but with the sun shining it was a nice couple of hours and easy to just on and off from the tram stop .

“GROUDLE GLEN RAILWAY”
Reviewed 26 October 2012

I travelled on the electric railway and then walked down to the station. The ground was rather muddy but there was an attractive river and water mill. I liked the sound of the running water. The station was attractive and good to look round whilst waiting. The train itself was clean and pleasant to look at. There was plenty of room in the carriages. The journey was interesting going through pleasant countryside. I enjoyed the journey very much. At the terminus there was an opportunity to have a drink and something to eat. The view from the cafe was marvellous. The journey back was good. The station shop was good and had a good range of gifts. The walk back was good.
