First time today that we managed to go on the train to the Sea Lion rocks and hopefully it won't be our last ! It was the special WI day and there were stalls with crafts, tombola etc which was very good. The train ride was lovely with stunning views of IOM. The Sea Lion tearoom at the end of the line was excellent. Homemade cakes and very friendly staff. The train ride is seasonal - check their web site and is run by volunteers. The walk through the glen was also lovely but boots or wellies are the best footwear.
We can also highly recommend their Santa Train at Xmas - very good value and a great family day out.

The walk through the Glen to get to the railway is lovely, not very good for disabled visitors as some of the paths are quite steep. The railway itself is great, the view as the train rounds the headland is superb and the facilities at the Sea Lion Rocks station are very good, nice refreshments and good loos.

A long path down into the glen but well worth the walk. Beautifully restored engines and short ride until you reach the cliffs. Great views. The old zoo and a good tearoom. Can be reached by taking the electric railway from Douglas as there is a stop at Groudle Glen.

Only runs on a Sunday, so never made it on previous visits, but it was a "must do" this holiday. From the tram stop, it's quite a hike to the station (10 minutes), but it's an easy walk along a well maintained path through a lovely picturesque glen. The station is clean and well maintained, staff are helpful, and the train ride has some lovely sea views.

Amazing restoration and run by volunteers. A bit exposed in the cold and cafe at the end can be difficult about bringing your own food which is a pity as let's face it this is not a commercial venture. Live and let live. Nevertheless the trains are an amazing piece of living history and the station is beautiful as is the setting. Worth a visit.
