The local family pass offers excellent value, available on their website. My 5 year old and I frequently visit with our spotty dog. The volunteers are always cheerful and welcoming and the views are lovely. The whole experience, from the walk through the glen to the train ride is a brilliant experience that is both relaxing and exciting for adults, kids and spotty dogs! It is our most used attraction on the island for us and our visitors. Plus the special events are fabulous, my son actually calls the tea rooms the Easter bunny's house!

Visited on one of the Wednesday evening events. A superb railway with trains operated by one of the steam locos which were built for the line when it originally opened in the 1890s. Very pleasant walk through the glen to reach the station. Everyone was very friendly. Excellent tea room at the far end of the line. Well worth a visit

This really is for all ages and is a charming railway run by volunteers with a well run café at its cliff top terminus. It is a bit of hike through the glen to get to the main station but it is well worth it.

The fist stop on the Electric Tram from Douglas is Groudle Glen (a request Stop). Follow the signs to the Gloudle Glen Railway down a fasinating walk down the Glen past an old water wheel that it looks like they might be about to restore and on to the railway station. The is currently only a service on Sunday & Wednesday in the Summer but the reward at the end of the line is superb - The Sea Lion Rocks Tea Rooms - home made cakes to die for and superb views on a clear day. Risk a short walk beyond and sea the remnants of a WWII block house. I well spent couple of hours. www.ggr.org.uk

The original steam loco 'Sea Lion' is used and takes you through the glen and along the coast to the terminus, where there used to be a zoo. The line is called the line that goes uphill to the sea and that is true.
