Ok, we know budget places, but . . . . we booked a double en-suite, and got 2 singles and you could open the door less than 1/2 way, cos the bed was in the way. Would have liked enough space to pass one another, but it was one way traffic round the beds to get to the bathroom. We had seen the photos, showing double rooms with table and chairs and SPACE. Good job we didn't have a cat, cos there was no room to swing it.
We paid for a double en-suite . . . no refund of course.
And as for the "Parking On Road" - they give you a parking disc that allows 2 hours parking, then you have to move the car! That means you have to be out and about before 10.00am, else you risk getting a parking fine.
Definitely not recommend this accommodation.

Room Tip: Book elsewhere - or take earplugs. Rooms at the back may be quieter, but as you cannot book a specif...

If you need a bed for a few nights, with self catering facilities then it does just that. The lady running the hostel day to day is absolutely lovely, and looks after the place very well. She cleans often, the place constantly smells of cleaning products, the communal kitchen is spotless and clean tea towels at all times. HOWEVER, it is an old building, there is damp, and some mould, that they make every effort to clean / neutralise with cleaning products. In short, its an old building (with a ridiculous number of steps up to the top rooms!), that is old and tired, but the staff do a great job of making it a welcoming homely place.

the rooms lower down are nicer. i stayed in 4,13,19 and 20 - 4 is lovely and airy, ensuite, great, then they get a bit more musty smelling as you go up the building somehow!

Room Tip: rooms lower down the building seem to be nicer!

Rotherham House is situated close to the sea and close to all local transport. The Owner who we met was happy for our small dog to stay with us, he even left a gift for the dog.
The room was very clean and had an en suite bathroom. We had a table and chairs and a fridge in the room. We also had use of a fully equipped kitchen and Laundry.
Someone was always on hand if we required anything. The only negative did not include breakfast it was room only.

Room Tip: We stayed in the lower ground floor.

Very comfy bed, good and friendly service. This is want you want, isn't it ? Quite big choice of breakfast. Overall food was really good. Close to beach, local pubs and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Stayed in room 9 which is on the second floor at the front of the property. Skemjazzer (below) has already written a comprehensive review about the accommodation so will just add to this. The room was very clean, quite reasonable and had a table/chairs with plenty of tea/coffee etc. Also a fridge/freezer which was very useful. Room serviced every morning and spotlessly clean. Free wifi which gave good connection and speed. Didn't see staff (Maria) apart from on arrival but she was very friendly .

Downsides include the incessant traffic noise (particularly refuse trucks) which is not helped by the single glazed windows and curtains which do not block out all the light so may be a problem for some. Heating didn't come on until 8pm each evening and on our last night didn't at all so it wasn't that warm! There seems to be a number of long term 'residents' who were quite noisy and some attempting to wake their colleagues at 6am in the room next to us.Had to be asked to be quiet! Some kept going in and out of the rooms which we could hear because of slamming doors and the echo from the laminate flooring (throughout the room and landings). Overall though it was value for the money and you probably get quite a bit for the price. but the other aspects may be a problem.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front might be very noisy because of the main road
