“Fantastic holiday”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

Just arrived back from a week at this hotel on a Just Go Holidays coach trip, the staff were all friendly and welcoming, were very eager to please, the food is excellent and well presented and was served by hard working happy waiters/waitresses. we would gladly recommend this hotel and would return again.

We recently stayed here and found the hotel to be good for the price. The rooms were clean and well maintained. They were tidied each morning by the staff which was good to see. Its a big hotel with a couple of bars. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Nothing to complain about, The rooms at the front with a sea view are nice, aim for one of those if you stay. Its a bit away (15 minute walk) from the "hub" of Douglas but nothing too sever. Worth a stay if you re visiting.

I reviewed this hotel a few years back and find it still has a special place in my heart, It is not perfect- I spotted some little bits of dirt with my "Alex Polizzi Hotel Inspector" head on.
But I love its charm and friendly staff. The original features are lovely but even the bar and lift are all old enough to have retro charm, whilst functioning perfectly.

The room my husband and I had for one night was small but perfectly formed. The bed linen was spotless and cottony smooth.Decor fresh with some older items like lampshades that could have been more fashionable. The room was warm and comfortable with a spectacular sea view of the sweeping promenade and recent stormy weather. It was just what I wanted, made even better by a winter rooms deal I got by phoning the hotel direct. Again, a lovely table and chairs with good quality tea and coffee to enjoy with the view.

Breakfast was fine. I was delighted to get some vegetarian style sausages.

Hotels on the Isle of Man are not cheap- there are no budget chains over here. This is a reasonably priced old lady with real personality in an enviable position at the quieter end of the promenade but near enough to The Palace and casino to make it ideal for a night out too.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view. You may have to pay a small supplement if the hotel is full

What a lovely hotel; not posh but clean and friendly with excellent service. Nothing was too much for the staff and any requests were taken care of immediately. We travelled with a coach party and despite the numbers to be catered for did not have to wait to be served. I would recommend anyone to stay here and will definitely be back.

we have just returned from this hotel we were in a party of 48 and had a great time bus stop just opposite so no trouble getting in to town and back (bus times alter in school term time ) the hotel was clean and tidy clean towels every day and the rooms were cleaned . we all went down to breakfast and dinner at the same time but no one had to wait the service was very good one night I did'nt like anything that was on the main couse so they offered me something else.the staff went out of thier way to make sure we all enjoyed our stay. the twins were exceptional they did'nt just serve us our meals but made an extra effort to make sure we enjoyed them and remembered what every one had (tea or coffee) I would stay there again when we go to the island again

Room Tip: we were in 302 on the front had a great view

We really enjoyed staying here. Great for walking the dog along the beach / prom. Easy to get to the tram / ferry /town. Plenty of parking on the front. The dog was welcome in the bar. Manx kippers for breakfast. Lovely friendly staff. Will return!
