We are now back from our 3 night stay at the Claremont Hotel.
Our Easyjet flight touched down early so we were in no great hurry to get to the hotel and caught the bus to Douglas. The island has an excellent bus service. The cost to town was £2.70pp.
We arrived at the Hotel at midday and although check in was not until 2pm our allocated room was ready.
We booked a Business room, which had a lovely sea view. Breakfast was included in our room rate. The room was a very good size, although first impressions were "manly". The Hotel have a turn down service with chocolate included.
The hotel staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the choice was excellent. We did not eat in the restaurant opting for an alternative location. (see our other report if you wish). We were pleased to note that the heating came on even in May!
We would highly recommend this hotel but would like to add some constructive criticism.
We were offered a complimentary newspaper which was not delivered we drew this to the attention of the front desk but it failed to turn up the following morning. It’s a small gripe but we feel don’t offer this service if its not upheld.
We were two people in the room and the complimentary toiletries were for a single occupant. Also these were not replaced on the second day.
Our room (301) had very creaky bedslats.
We would suggest a blackout blind be fitted to the main room window.
