2nd visit to this hotel last 1 being 2 years ago & i must add this time a marked improvement. from arrival the effort made by the staff to make everyone welcome was noticeable & appreciated . only 1 minor complaint was room 116 suffered from the noise coming from the bar across the road till late each evening. One member of staff who deserves special mention is Hannah on reception very pleasent & nothing too much trouble when dealing with guests. As for the standard of Food & Cleanliness both very of a reasonably good standard the restaurant had plenty of choice most days a Selection of 4 or 5 starters 4 or 5 main courses plus desserts. looking forward to returning later in the year

No complaints about the value for money of this hotel; it was certainly cheap. However, the concrete flat roof outside the window of my room was covered in at least 3 inches of pigeon faeces to the extent that I began to worry about my health and was glad I was staying for only 3 nights. I certainly would not recommend this hotel to someone with health problems or young children on these grounds.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that face the sea; at least this way you are guaranteed not to get a room which faces...

Low cost but some in-excusable problems:
Extremely poor service at breakfast, have to chase staff around to get any coffee
Not even enough jugs to provide a jug of water on each table at dinner.
Pigeon excrement coating the windows of the bedroom.
Poor plumbing making a lot of noise at night.
Housekeeping didn't even bother to ensure there was enough toilet paper in bathroom.

We have just recently returned from a five day holiday at this hotel on a Skills coach trip.
We had a very good check in with the staff who quickly took our cases off the bus and put into the reception, We were very pleased with our room on the second floor as it was a very big, clean and modern, and faced the front so that we had good veiws over the bay and the promanade, The food at breakfast and the evening meal was excellent with a good variety to choose from.
All the staff there were very helpful and polite and I would realy recomend this hotel to any one visiting the Isle of Man and Douglas

We were in a room on the second floor with a small window overlooking the back alley (noisy at weekends and early morning) sadly we also had a view of the pigeons and their deposits left on the widowsill, the television was ok once I'd worked out how to use the changer, the shower was excellant' but unfortunately the bed although described as double was little more than a large single ' the bar opened and and shut in the blink of an eye we were there 4 nights it shut at 10 on 3 of them and never opened on the other, the breakfast was very good and staff friendly . the hotel is situated on the sea front wich has a very pleasant promenade ,parking can be a nightmare although it is free with for 2 hours with parking discs finding a lot can take an age and sometimes be quite a distance away from the hotel.

Room Tip: check the room first some at the back are a bit noisy
