We Booked this hotel through Steam packet ferries. Ferry crossing & hotel included. £300 for the package. I had read some reviews about this hotel after I had booked it, which cause me a little concern. People have moaned about the quality of the breakfast. We found that the selection was ample. Our room had a sea view, brill. Location was very good, never had to pay for parking outside the hotel. The rooms very clean and were cleaned daily. We found the staff very friendly and attentive. We look forward to returning to this hotel next october.

Room Tip: Ask for the sea view room :)

After walking out of a so called 'boutique' hotel because it was damp. We were offered a room at the Penta. Nothing special but what to expect for the price. We were given room 18 on the top floor, luckily it had a lift! Its a large side facing room, view of derilict building next door. It was quiet.
Small double bed with pillows full of air, large bathroom great water pressure in shower. Shame towels more like tea towels.
Furnishings remind you of a cheap ikea look. There was tea/coffee, iron and hair dryer and free wifi throughout building.
The breakfast is worthy of the name Continental, a travel lodge has more choice.. 3 choice if cereal and the thinnest bread for toast. Tea & coffee from a flask and tescos own nasty yoghurt.
It is what it is cheap & clean

Despite the cleaner frontage among a collection of shabby waterfront hotels, the Penta is a poor hotel. Cheap fittings in the rooms, the smallest and thinnest towels I have had the misfortune to use (only one bath towel provided) and a 'continental breakfast' that is anything but. How hard would it be to provide some fruit or croissants for breakfast? Never mind the rancid coffee provided in a flask. There must be better options than this on the island. Do yourself a favour and avoid.

We were booked to stay in the caledonia next door but due to double booking they booked us in here - we were very pleased! Decor v good, modern. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Rooms massive with tea making facility/ hair dryer/iron. Small lift - great for buggy! Bathroom huge. We ate with our party next door so cannot comment on breakfast. When we needed a staff member a phone call from reception desk phone and someone appeared fast. Facility to store luggage after check out until flight is handy! Only issues- couldn't find light switch for public toilets in lobby so couldn't use and view from our room looked into a derelict building next door! Location is great- handy to bars/ restaurants, electric train. Horse tram and buses outside door! A phonecall at reception puts u through to regency hotel who will happily book taxis for you of needed! All in all a good place to stay and would stay again!

Just back from the TT, myself and brother stayed for a week and could not fault it. Great location with a bus along the prom into Douglas centre or up to Laxey and Ramsey also close to the electric train which is worth a ride. Quiet, very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly would defiantly stay again.

Superb rooms, very nicely refurbished hotel. Well serviced and very clean. The only thing which let it down was the poor breakfast choice. 'Continental Breakfast' was nothing more than cereal and toast.
