Good for kids but otherwise don't bother. A bit like Jorvik with the ride and the exhibits taken out. Lots of nice models but if you can think or read don't bother. At least it was free with National Trust membership. Staff member on the front desk was also rude about me wanting to go in at 4.10. Go to Peel Castle and the other centres.

It is an interesting museum visit. Some children may find the many audio visual presentations interesting, but I did find them wearing after a time.

This is a great place to visit..National Trust members get in for free. Very interesting and extremely well presented with a variety of interactive ways of learning more. Would be great for children but as a couple of senior citizens, we also found it great. To do it all justice you need to give it a good couple of hours at least.

TOP TIP. When visiting the Isle of Man, first purchase a £20 Holiday pass. ( valid for 14 days) For a one off fee This enables you to enter all the attractions, museums , castles etc on the island and save ££££!
The House of Manannan is a great interactive museum by the harbour in Peel . Built over 3 floors it takes you on a journey of the history of the Isle of Man from it's first settlers right through to present day. There is a full size Viking longboat on display that was used a few years ago by a team re enacting the journey the Vikings made.
The shop at the entrance /exit has lots of relevant goods on display, books, toys, jewellery etc.
A very educational visit.
