As there's only one "curry house" in Ramsey and I like my curry, it's just as well this one is OK. Not perfect mind, but certainly OK.
Location is handily in the centre of the town and as the main street takes less than ten minutes to walk along, you're never too far away.
There is no drinks licence. You can of course bring your own (at no charge) and there are a couple of supermarkets nearby or even an off licence which has pre-chilled beers. Alternatively, the Britannia pub is right outside and you can get your beers from the pub and bring them into the restaurant. Make sure you bring the glasses back though!
The menu includes most of the old favourites, plus one or two surprises and some house specials.
I would normally start with a chicken tikka, but there's a nice garlic crab starter too or why not try morcha (chilli stuffed with cream cheese then breaded and fried).
My preferred main is a dish they call Naga Jolokia which is a fiery chicken dish. Their chetinadh is however very good too. If you ask nicely, they'll even make a chilli naan which is great for hot heads!!!
On Sunday there's a buffet night which gives a mixed started, selection of mains plus rice and naan for a fixed price. Mains are self service buffet.
A recent introduction has brough a small number of thai dishes to the menu. I've not had these so can't comment.
On the whole, the food is fine. Portion size is fine although the ratio of meat to other ingredients in the main courses is a little on the low side.
