“Friendly, hearty breakfast and view of the sea!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

Stayed for two nights with my daughter and had a wonderful time, on arrival we got a parking space (read this might be an issue), got upgraded to a family room with a sea view and got a very warm welcome. Breakfast was buffet service and we left fit to bust each morning. The room was well equipped and clean, complimentary toiletries and refreshments. Whilst there we ate in the restaurants on either side, had afternoon tea and chocolate fondue at Mr Darcys (thanks to a groupon offer). Would recommend!

Stayed for two nights at this friendly, relaxed, and clean hotel.
Our room had a sea view which was well worth the few extra pounds.
Breakfast choices and quality was excellent and the Tapas meal on the first evening was second to none.
Will definitely return.
Thank you everyone.

Large room, good customer service and excellent value! Very good location on the sea front and next to an Italian restaurant. Staff were polite and helpful. Rooms clean and spacious. All the above made for a very comfortable stay.

We were only here for one night but we had a big bright clean airy room with a great view from the window. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was amazing and really fresh, loads of choice -continental and cooked - I really like the Danish Pastries. Only downside was the Italian Restaurant closed at 8o'clock (but we found a really nice restaurant in the town) and I had to stand at the bedroom door for the wi-fi to work. Would recommend this hotel to everyone and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Room 20 had loads of room, great view, a double and a single bed

This hotel was excellent, the room we had was large & airy. We only stayed for 1 night and we were at the back of the hotel. But I noticed the rooms at the front had wonderful sea views. The staff were very good and couldn't be faulted. The breakfast was served in a nice breakfast room, food well cooked, extensive choice and tea served in a proper tea pot. This hotel is a good base to use if you are touring the area because Whitley Bay is a shadow of its former self.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room. If stairs are a problem let the hotel know because there is no lift.

This was a short break to visit relatives and I couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The room was beautiful and spacious and had the most incredible views. We must remember to pack the binoculars next time! Perhaps having some behind reception may be an idea. Breakfast was vey good with lots of choice, served in a very pleasant, airy room. We couldn't fault the hotel at all, nor the lovely Italian restaurant next door. Marie on Reception was very friendly and the perfect personality to welcome guests to this hidden gem in Whitley Bay.

Room Tip: If you're coming to the seaside it's worth paying the extra for the sea view. Fantastic!

At first we drove past this hotel as it's situated between an Italian Restaurant and a bar/club but turns out it's all part of the same place! Parked out front no problem, although seems there are only a few spaces so I would imagine there's a possibility for on-street parking. I had called ahead to ask if we could check in earlier at 11.30am as we were driving up from Derbyshire and this was no problem. On arrival we were met by friendly young lady on reception and showed to to our room which was lovely with big windows and lovely sea view, lovely clean bathroom and all seemed fine, until my partner sat on the bed and it promptly collapsed!! We alerted reception and within 10 min a maintenance guy arrived and took the bed apart only to tell us the previous guests appeared to have taken some of the fixtures ha ha! Anyway we were given another room immediately and I actually liked this one better as it was near to the breakfast room and main hall and also better (if even possible as it's all great) view of St Mary's lighthouse. Same spacious type room, big bed, sturdy this time, bed was too soft for me though, but that's personal. Spotless clean room and bathroom, shower cubicle was a tad small but lots of nice clean towels and toiletries. Lots of tea and coffee and even bottles of water. The room was fairly quiet considering it was on a main road along the front and we had no noise from the restaurant or bar. The only time it was noisy was early in the morning when there were quite a few doors slamming and noise outside the room....no idea what it was. We had a takeaway Chinese from place two doors up which was very nice and convenient. The hotel has a snack/drinks machine on 1st floor if so required and of course the bar for refreshments downstairs but we didn't use this facility. The breakfast was great, so much choice and all laid out nicely in buffet style, lots of different items for cooked breakfast and continental breakfast as well as pastries, various juices, cereals and porridge. Staff served coffee and tea and toast and nothing was too much to ask. Friendly and efficient at all times I felt very relaxed at this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Opt for rooms at the front of the property, room 4 and 10 because you get sea view and big spacious...
