“Great hotel”

This is our 3rd stay at the windsor hotel and we were not disappointed. We asked for a sea view and were given room 20... absolutely stunning! A large room with a beautiful 4 poster bed and 42" tv. The cost was £60 for 2 nights a real bargain.a lovely bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle. The staff always friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone.

We were booked in to see the pato in Whitley bay . We found the hotel through Trip Advisor and despite mixed reviews decided to go ahead and book as the family room was a very reasonable price and near to the seafront . Our other option was to stay in Newcastle . The family room was huge and fine for a family of 4 . It was clean , warm and quiet in the evenings . The breakfasts were tasty and the wedding breakfast was a nice treat . All the staff were helpful and friendly but especially Jonathan on reception who seems a real character . The hoel was two minutes walk from the beach and near by to a few local restaurants too . The panto starring the wonderful Sarah Jane Honeywell.was great too . Our only disappointment on leaving was to find a parking ticket on our windscreen . We were apparently next to a dropped kerb at the front of the hotel . We are disputing the fine as the kerb was not level with the road and had no markings or signs .We had been parked there for three days and hadn't realised there was a car park at the back of the hotel .

Room Tip: Apparently quieter at the back of the hotel . Park in the car park !

I've visited te Windsor twice in two months fro business.
first stay, great, Chef cooked a mean rare steak, decent room and an OK breakfast, not much time to say much more as i arrived at 2000 hours and departed teh next day at 0800hours.

The second visit, last week, exactly the same room so no complaints, obviously a different chef, who didn't cook a mean rare steak, once again an OK breakfast.

staff are helpful and know the local area well which is a plus.

We called here at 5.00 pm having been let down elsewhere and they soon had us booked into three really warm comfortable rooms . The lady on reception was so helpful and the whole place is very welcoming . They are running a special offer on rooms until the end of February so we have booked a four day return visit for mid February .

Room Tip: If you ask for a corner room you will pull back your curtains in the morning to see the North Sea an...

My Mother and I stayed at The Windsor Hotel whilst visiting an old friend who lives in Whitley Bay. Parking at the rear of the hotel is a huge plus point, Jonathan on reception is another! He was lovely, from dealing with him when booking on the telephone, to each time we spoke. Respectful manner, light banter with guests, extremely helpful, someone like him on reception makes all the difference in hotels (he deserves a pay rise!!)

The hotel itself is nicely located, close to shops and beach. The room was spacious with a lovely bathroom, very clean and warm. Breakfast was also good, plenty of choice on the buffet side but also a good choice of cooked breakfast. I have only one criticism of breakfast and that is they should have 'proper' coffee ie not sachets of instant! I did speak to another guest about this and they thought the same.

One more point, free Wi-Fi is advertised, but had an extremely poor signal...again something like this is an annoyance more than anything. Nowadays many people have tablets, smart phones etc and Wi-F can be a make or break for somewhere to stay, so get it sorted!!!

All in all an enjoyable experience and The Windsor Hotel will now be our place to stay in Whitley Bay and I would highly recommend it!

I booked the hotel for two nights with a Living Social deal. I briefly researched the hotel on Trip Advisor and made the booking.

A more detailed read of the reviews did fill me with worry and I wasn't looking forward to our weekend away.

We arrived at the hotel, check-in was very friendly, quick and efficient. Our huge room was right at the back of the hotel. Simply decorated, clean but in need of a little updating. Comfortable beds, all three of them, with fair quality linens.

Breakfast was served promptly again with very friendly staff.

Our second night's sleep was good, we were only disturbed once by the nightclub, closing the window kept out the sound completely.

Whitley Bay is an interesting town, a little run down in places but still worth visiting. Newcastle and The Sage are only a short metro journey away.

I'd stay here again.
