Appalling ham and egg today. Frozen chips and cold reconstituted ham with two fried eggs on top. It reminded us of Pek!

This was a randomly picked stop on a walk in Holywell dene but we were really pleased that we did. Sunday lunch was a very healthy portion of what tasted like a homemade Sunday dinner. Portion size was generous and walking afterwards was definitely a slower pace due to sated appetites. Staff were helpful, polite and efficient.

Having been to this pub / diner for a drink with friends and seeing the food being served I wanted to visit for a meal. So when it was my Father in Law's birthday and living only a few miles away I decided this was the place we would take him for Sunday lunch. We booked in advance and were shown our table whilst I ordered drinks from the variety of ales and wines on offer. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. My father in Law decided on the "trio of meats" and there was so much meat - which he said was very tasty - he could not finish it. The other meals were also very good and the vegetables were well cooked, tasty, and plentiful.

On a very cold and soggy Sunday we decided to venture out for Sunday lunch. A challenge usually for 2 vegetarians and a carnivore. Came across this pub and decided to take a chance. So pleased we did. Friendly staff greeted us and we were pleasantly surprised to be offered a different options for the vegetarians. Decided on nut roast- devine. Plenty of vegetables and crispy roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings and our own vegetarian gravy. Great staff, great food, great place. The puddings looked lovely sadly too full to have one. Highly recommend.

Lunchtime has a decent range of foods on the menu at reasonable prices. The lunch we had - meat dish was good. The fish dish less so - bit dried up and "commercial" - certainly not fresh. Genial service. Meals served in the conservatory OK in good weather with a pleasant view out. All surfaces reflect sound so if it's full of diners, for those who wear hearing aids, it's better to stay in the bar! Plenty of car parking space.
