I stayed at the Oaktree Hotel on the 05/05/12 the last day of my Hadrian's Wall walk. My feet were aching after 20 miles of Tarmac Hell. I although there was no bath, Andrew and Sonia made up for it by brining up a bowl of water to my room soak my feet in. The accommodation was excellent, The ambiance of Oaktree Hotel is very welcoming. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Returned home today after 2 nights accomodation here with my partner and daughter. We stayed in a family room which was firstly fantastic value for money but also very spacious and had everything we needed to hand. The decor was cosy and homely throughout and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and they also offer to provide packed lunches if you are off day tripping which is really good.

Andrew and his wife run a beautful guest house and we have no doubts we will be returning again very soon!

Overall 10/10 across the board, lovely place highly recommended!

Just returned from our stay at the Oak Tree Lodge in Whitley Bay - Well where to start!! We had quite low expectations as its difficult to find decent accomodation in Whitley Bay as most are situated next to a nightclub or strip bar so you do have to do your homework!! The Grand is ridiculously expensive and simply couldnt justify their room rate at £500 per person for 3 nights stay in a basic room!! The Park Hotel is so delapidated it needs a massive facelift and really is quite shabby and the Rex is above Deep nightclub in the centre so we started to look at B&B's and Guesthouses, well the list was endless and to be honest it can be quite hit or miss but eventually we came accross the Oak Tree Lodge!! On arrival Andrew came to meet us and moved his car so that I could park (Where do you get service like that!!) Our bags were then delivered to our rooms and we were given the warmest of welcomes to Whitley Bay. The rooms are superb, all mod cons and the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud!! Breakfast was superb with a selection of cereals, full english and toast with local jams. You can come and go as you please and Andrew is always on hand to help out with local knowledge so you can make the most of your stay. We will honestly look no futher when seeking accomodation in the future and we look forward to receiving Andrew and Sonia's hospitality on our next trip to the North East!! Better than 4 star hotels I have stayed in!!

Room Tip: Go for En-suite Double Rooms otherwise you will have to share the toilet facilities with other guest...

My husband stays here on business a few days per week. Our son (3) and I joined him during half term and had a wonderful stay. The owners are so friendly and welcoming they made a big fuss of our son every time they saw him. The room was nice, spotlessly clean and really warm. I was amazed to see a proper vegetarian option for breakfast which is quite rare and it was delicious. We'll definately be going back whenever we can and i have recommended it to others already.

My stay was excellent both in the central location and the knowledge of my hosts with the local area and advice on places to visit.
My room was comfortable and cosy. The Lounge area was inviting and Andrew and Isabel were extremely welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. I would definitly stay here again

We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Andrew and Sonia. The room was very comfortable and spotless. After a good nights sleep we were welcomed with a hearty breakfast to start the day. This Hotel is a great base camp for anyone visiting the beautiful North East coast line, we certainly will be going back in the summer.
Many thanks to Andrew and Sonia for a most enjoyable stay.
