This was our second visit to the Grand Pineapple and we weren't disappointed. We stayed in the Tropical Waterfront room and it was clean and modern. The view from our patio was fantastic. The selection of restaurants is limited at this resort, but the food quality in the buffet and Pietro dining room was great. We love this resort for its quaintness and easy access to everything; restaurant, pools, beach.
Rooms in the higher buildings can be a challenge to climb if you have limited mobility or are a senior. My advice is to book early and get a Garden view, Tropical beachfront or standard room on the lower level.
Unfortunately, the GP will be closed next year for renovations. It is sorely in need to a makeover, but I hope they retain the cozy, friendliness of the resort.
We heard rumours the beach property where the shopping huts are located has been bought and will become another building unit. That's good because the huts are too small and dingy to make it a pleasant shopping experience. Also some of the owners are very aggressive. A more modern shopping plaza where you can shop at your leisure would definitely be an improvement. We hope to return to the Grand Pineapple and enjoy the upgrades and another friendly, restful holiday.More
