Just returned from another great meal at Zelia in Sanginhal, just a few km from our house. We have been many times over the last 5 years and also to their outdoor eatery at the wine festival in the park at Bombarral. We have been sometimes just the 2 of us and in groups from 4 to over thirty (with the British historical society of Portugal after Remembrance day ceremony at Rolico)
We have always had great food (favorites are rabbit and pork alentajano) very attentive service from professional staff (English spoken) Best to go at lunchtime when it is busy as it is a big restaurant and the atmosphere is better but evenings in the summer are OK. prices are very reasonable and very good local wines can be had with little markup as Sanginhal is the centre of the local wine trade. Enjoy!
