This is a lovely B & B with a nice and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The rooms were clean and we slept very well, we stayed there in October 2011 for the first time but would return especially to enjoy the beach near by during summer months. Sandown center is not our favorite part of the island and we usually stay in Shanklin or Ventnor which are prettier but this hotel is one of our best memory from the Isle of Wight.

Stayed at The Denewood for a couple of nights during August. We found the guest house to be very clean, well run and managed by the owners - Roger & Karen. Our room (room no. 1) was clean and had good facilities. Breakfasts were excellent. Location is very good, a two minute walk to the beach and town centre where there are afew bars & restaurants - close enough to walk but far enough away should it be lively/noisy (which we didn't find it to be).

Would definately recommend this friendly, clean and well presented guest house to others and would stay here again. Good value for money. :)

Room Tip: Room no. 1 is located on the ground floor, it's nice and large, clean and wasn't noisy.

We have just returned from a two week stay at The Denewood. This is the fourth year we have returned and we are booked in for next year (and the year after) already. There were 15 of us ranging from 2 to 73 years old and we all had a wonderful time. The Denewood is clean, comfortable and welcoming and Karen and Roger are fabulous hosts. The meals deserve a special mention - the food is scrumptious and the portions enourmous - you will not go home hungry! Located close to the beach, I cannot recommend The Denewood enough.

Room Tip: Looking at comments posted before - Rooms to the side or back are quieter. The showers do run hot b...

The Denewood is a hotel that we, as a school, have used for many years. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating and were great hosts.

The rooms are clean and homely and a good size and the showers, after warming up, are perfectly adequate!

The cooked breakfast was ample and very tasty and the evening meals were homemade and very nice.

The Denewood is perfectly siuated for the beach and local shops are less than 2 minutes walk away.

All in all a great hotel!

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in April with my Husband and friends. The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of mins walk from the main promenade. The hotel has a real family feel and the owners were so helpful and welcoming. Roger, the owner, even leant his shoes to my brother as my brother forgot to pack his!!! Lovely clean rooms, great facilities and a gorgeous breakfast. Would definitely go back!

We stayed at The Denewood,Sandown, Isle of Wight, for 4 nights in October. This was our first visit to Isle of Wight with our two kids (one is almost 5 years, and the other 6 months old). The Denewood is a very good B&B. Very clean room. Nice breakfast. Freindly owners. We forgot few items in the room at checkout and dicovered them after

At Sandown we visited the Dinaseurs museum, which my daughter liked. We walked by the beach few time (little to do on beach on October of course).
We visited the Steam Railway at Havenstreet. In addition to the unlimted train rides, there were other activities to keep kids entertained (scary maze, scary costume competition, shop, restaurant).

We visited Black Gang park. This was lots of fun. We visited it twice during our stay as the ticket allows for this.
We had dinner once at The Reef restaurant which was fine but not that good. We had dinner once in a The Village Inn pub and restaurant at nearby Shanklin ...this was great.
