“Fab location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2013 via mobile

Great location, right on the sea so the view is amazing.Rooms fresh and tidy and staff were friendly and helpful. Well worth staying as we came from a four star hotel the night before but this hotel location keeps it up there!

Have just returned from a week at the Trouville in Sandown. The hotel is nice, the staff are friendly and helpful, as are the waiters and waitresses. The food was lovely, with a good choice at breakfast and dinner. The hotel had some coach parties in but the service was still pretty good. It was nice to see the Managers getting stuck in as well! We had a sea view room, which was definitely a good choice. My only comments if I was being picky would be that our bathroom was dated and in need of refurbishment, it still had the old style bath (not easy to get into after a knee replacement) and athough there was a shower there was no safety rail to get in and out. Considering the age range of the guests during our stay I would have thought this was absolutely essential.

Room Tip: Definitely a sea view or side view, otherwise the back looks out onto buildings.

we stayed at the trouvville for four nights as part of a two coach party. We thought the service was first class as was the food and the accomodation .All the staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. There was a good and varied choice of food at dinner and breakfast and although there was a number of coach parties on site it never felt rushed. The evening entertainment was very relaxing and enjoyable.Of course the location is perfect, being on the sea front, and asea view room is a must

Room Tip: sea view is a must

It is so lovely to read that you found the service to be first class during your recent stay at the Trouville. I agree, our location is perfect, we 're very lucky to have the beach on our door step! We're glad that you found there was plenty of choice during breakfast and dinner and that you enjoyed the evening entertainment. We hope you will come back to enjoy another 'brilliant break' at the Trouville Hotel.

This was our best stay on the Isle of Wight, ever.
Staff were always on hand and willing to help, and always smiling- even during the hectic breakfast period.
They made us all feel so welcome, and paid special attention to our 5 year old Daughter.
(sorry about all of the sand in the bedroom!!)
The only sad thing is that we cannot get back there for the August bank holiday weekend as they are already fully booked.
Central to everything in sandowen, the Trouville is THE place to stay and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
We will be back, have no fear.

Thank you so much for a delightful review! We hope that you will be able to return on another occasion (when we have rooms available!) and we're really sorry that we cannot accommodate you over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It was a pleasure to have you and your daughter stay with us and we're glad she took advantage of the sunny weather and played on the beach! We look forward to seeing you next time you are on the Isle of Wight.

We stayed at the Trouville for the second time on a bank holiday weekend for our dance festival from the midlands. It looks a little tired from the outside but the location is perfect on the sea front and the food quality exceptional for catering on this scale. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times and dealt with any queries immediately. The restaurant staff were also very good and professional. The facilities are good and the dance floor a good size for a large party and there are other recreational rooms up stairs. The bar prices are reasonable for a hotel too. There is limited secure parking away from the hotel otherwise you pay around £6.00 on the Esplanade opposite for the day starting at 10:00 am. The only downside for me was the location of the room. On our first visit we had a sea view which was amazing and you could leave the window open and listen to the waves all night. This time we were in room 229, this is at the back of the hotel facing the back of other properties. The room itself is fine but unfortunately it is also near the noisy extractor fan for the kitchens which fires up around 7 a.m. until late. This means you cannot have the window open if you fancy an afternoon nap. This was the only blot on another fantastic stay. We will be back but insist on a sea view again next time.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view every time rather than at the back of the hotel where there is no view apart from...

We hope the other 76 dancers enjoyed their weekend as much as you did! I'm so sorry that you happened to be the only couple from your group not to have a sea view room, unfortunately because the hotel was at full capacity, we were unable to give one couple a sea view room (which happened to be you!) - you'll be first on the list for a sea view room next time! Thank you for reviewing the Trouville and we look forward to seeing you in 2014.

Hotel was a perfect venue for a week's break with my elderly mother and group. Fabulous location, right on the beach and close to Sandown pier and shops. Although Sandown is a bit hilly we found a gentler slope up to the High Street. The staff at the Trouville are young and all are very friendly. Nothing too much trouble and the waiting staff treated my mom as their 'granny', which she loved. The food was just fantastic...no meal disappointed. Adequate lift to all floors and we had a delightful room overlooking the prom. Lovely warm and spacious lounges with views of front and the sea. I can imagine the hotel would be equally ideal for families. Special thanks to Laura in the dining room and Debbie, Manager.

Room Tip: We stayed in a twin bed room - 103
