Arrived on park and in reception was met by a woman who did not have much to say. After a few minutes standing there she looked up and stared until I had to say "I'm here to check in". Walked to the caravan, went inside and was appalled by what we saw. I am used to 'roughing it' in caravanning and camping but this was worse than anything I have experienced before, and can I say that the friends I stayed with were disgusted.
1. Pubic hair on the toilet seat and in the wardrobe
2. Unused sanitary towel under bed
3. Stains on lounge carpet
4. Stains on ceiling
5. Curtains that didn't fit windows properly
6. Outside light not working properly
7. Freezing cold for most of day
8. Temperamental hot water from shower
Unfortunately we lost the feedback form which they give out upon arrival so when I went to check out I had the intention of making our thoughts known. However, nobody was there, only a bucket that said "Check-Outs. Please leave your keys in the bucket. Thank You"
We didn't go in the club house as we could hear enough from our caravan to know the entertainment was bad.
Upon packing the car on our departure, we overheard others complaining about the quality and state of their caravans.
Would not recommend this site. Thought was good value for money due to time of year but not for what we received as our accommodation.

This was our first time staying at Fairway holiday park, we found the site very relaxing with everything that you would need for a short stay. We found all the staff on site very friendly and always willing to help.
Sandown is very close by and an easy drive.

Would recommend this site as it is family friendly and nice a quite.

The one I had rented was very very old, un inhabitable and very cold. The heaters were ineffective and wals of the rooms were smelly. We stayed couple of days but the whole family slept in the living room on Sofas.

Room Tip: Spend money, make sure you rent the newest Caravan and hope everything turns out to be good.

Checked in quickly, drive to our caravan, only to be greeted by a smelly caravan, we opened all windows and doors, then the horror;
1. Carpet was filthy.
2. Kitchenette floor was mouldy.
3. Fridge was smelly and had a stagnant puddle in it, God only knows what it was.
4. Shower cubicle was mouldy right round.
5. Long hair and stains in the kitchen sink.
6. Supposedly cooking pan: see pics, need I say more?

So, we decided to query this and dh was offered keys to try other caravan, which wasn't any better. So we walked to the Spar just outside the gates, managed to buy bleach and cleaning clothes, sadly, no rubber gloves in stock so I had to grin and bear it and bleached every pan, water-glass, fork and shower cubicle.

Come bedtime, the bedroom stunk, musty and sickly smell, so I decided we were going to request another duvet in case it was the culprit but it wasn't to be, so we settled for the living room floor instead as I just felt sick in there and couldn't wait to vacate, thankfully we were booked in for 2 nights.

The following morning we saw a cleaner, asked for a Hoover, poor girl, it was in bits, tapped up and did not Hoover at all but we had to do our best to make the caravan habitable, if I was the cleaner there I would go on strike and demand a new hoover to do my work properly.

We've stayed in a caravan before but never come across such appalling conditions before and Fairway has definitely put me off caravans. All I wanted was a room to sleep in, a kitchen to tussle up my kids' meals and if you are looking for the above, better not head for it, not worth it at all.

Feedback sheet was filled in appropriately and hopefully it hasn't been shredded. Sort this out please Fairway Holiday Park for the sake of your reputation.

Room Tip: Don't even go there!

Had a long weekend break after booking with red funnel holidays... Great value for the money and great to use as a base to visit attractions around the island!
Arrived early and was allowed into the caravan great! After moving all our bags in and went for a train ride to ryde for an afternoon came back to find the floor in the shower room was almost worn through... Was likely to give way at any moment.. We were moved to another caravan.. Very dated and dirty but we were not spending the weekend moving from van to van..
Clubhouse was great for the size of the park although it seemed to be a bit of a drinking den for the workers/locals
James was good fun god knows what they will do if he moves on!
The whole place could do with a clean especially the toilets in the clubhouse as they were not touched the 4 days we were there.
We will visit the island again but will pay the extra for a cleaner and up to date place!

The caravan cost £200 for three nights and to be honest the caravan was 20+ years old as advertised but you would not expect everything to be chipped and dirty to the point where someones hair was all over the mattress, the tv took four attempts to change to get a signal.

The smell was also a major issue inside.

All the worktop around the sink was all completely chipped , carpet that was not even stuck down and dirty.

I accept its cheap but in this day and age you really would expect better standards of accommodation for an example of toaster, a mop, a tv that worked, a shower that can accommodate you if you are over 6ft.

The site is located within a housing estate and one road in and out of the park is not manned or secure in anyway which i find surprising for a family holiday park also the noise levels are awful as all caravans are very close to each other and with road noise etc don't expect any sort of a lie in.

Above all we will not return and i wouldn't recommend as all the guests who stayed with us said they felt dirty all the time.

Room Tip: surrounded by a housing estate so we didn't feel very safe.

On the arrival we were given a caravan that was not very clean,TV didn't work. A very friendly receptionist changed it for us straightaway and the new caravan was lovely, clean and comfortable! We enjoyed the sunshine path to the seaside and kids made lot's of friends by playing out. Everyone was very friendly. It was very nice and calm and quiet on the park, we enjoyed the clubhouse music and bingo, kids liked playing games with James. It is better to have a car on this park - easier to get to attractions and beach. But we enjoyed walking and took train for some of our days out. And the countryside around the park is beautiful, many blackberries to pick on the way to the beach as well!Kids loved the swimming pool!!! Overall it was a lovely very family-friendly holiday.
