“Are you tourists???”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2012

After a very successful spontaneous birthday trip to IOW on our last night we stopped at "Asian Fusion" we came in and was approached by the manageress. We sat down and was asked straight off " Are we tourists or are you local?" we replied "We was on holiday" She then proceeded to serve us a starting platter. This was quite nice assortment of dishes and we ordered our drinks ( 1 x coke and 1 x spirit and coke)

The mains came out over a space of time (20minutes). Once all the dishes came out we started to dine. The presentation of the food was not very appetising but we did know we was at a buffet style eatery, so we was not put off.The food was at a good temperature. After finishing 4 out of the 6 dishes we asked a waitress to order two more dishes. No sooner as we asked to order more dishes the manageress came to the table and said " what's is wrong with the dishes we previously ordered and she wanted me to know " it's not a taste everything on the menu " "you order what you know you will like" this put us on edge and made us both feel uncomfortable and very uneasy.

The entire experience ruined our last night on IOW and we paid the full bill and left after not ordering anything else.

I would not recommend this eatery to anyone as we was treated like "foreigners" and with discontent.

I can truly say this is my true experience and just wish to warn other people of our experience within this establishment.

“Never judge a book by the cover”

Well after having an absolutely fantastic long weekend May bank holiday on this lovely Isle it was time to go back to the main land. But as there was a few hours before our ferry we had drove passed this restaurant a few days prior and wanted to go there. So we decided to go on the monday afternoon.
When you look at the building it doesn't exactly look enticing, but we decided to take the plunge. It is quite large inside and was a little cold for my nesh wife.
It is an all you can eat freshly cooked or a la carte.
They do 2 types of AYCE a lunchtime menu and an evening menu. The lunchtime menu was approx £8.50 for adults and £5 for kids kids price is upto 10 year olds. the evening menu was approx £14.50. The difference in choices is simple the evening menu is all of the menu for the AYCE and the lunchtime menu is only a quarter of the same menu of choices available.

I went for evening as i didn't fancy many things on the lunchtime menu, i'll rephrase that i fancied more foods that are available on the evening menu particularly the seafood menu which is not available on the AYCE lunchtime menu.

The food came out, and i was surprised, it was beautiful. There were 8 of us so we mixed dishes, i have my favourites which were delicious but thats my preference:
The best dishes we thought were;
All the ribs,
Chicken wings,
Deep fried chilli beef,
prawn toast,
seaweed,
Duck in plum sauce,
vermicelli noodles,
and then followed closely by the rest of the menu with the exception of the calamari which my wife tells me was ok but she has had nicer.
One of the nice things also is the fact that you can see the chefs cooking and preparing the meals that you eat which is nice to see, and is quite different to most places.
The waitress was friendly and not phased by our loud children.
This is a lovely restaurant and shall be making time to go visit this again on our next trip to the IOW.
