“Nice Pier”
Review of Sandown Pier

Sandown Pier
Reviewed 19 August 2017

The pier has everything you would expect, food, arcade, bar. It was all really nice and clean. You are not aloud to fish from the pier, but if you go right to the end and past the fun fair there is a special fishing area.

This is a good amusements not to expensive and has a good adventure golf course inside. It appears to have improved over the last couple of years. The doughnuts from half way down the pier are really nice but a tad on the expensive side. If it was me I would move them to the front drop the price a bit and it may just fill the place.

This is not my idea of a typical pier, there is very little outside space to sit and relax, it is just a massive amusement arcade. But if amusement arcades are your thing then this is the place to go because it has everything imaginable for the real amusement arcade connoisseur.

We only really came across this place by chance. All the older kids wanted to play golf so we found this place as somewhere to wait and kill some time. All we brought was a couple of teas and cakes, juice and crisps for the little grandson. It was calm and comfortable. Was quite busy. We sat in booths, so seating was comfy. It was evening so dont really know what else it offered other than what we had and ice cream. It was what it was.

Whether it rains, or shines during your vacation, the pier has something for everyone - old and young.
Take a leisurely stroll along the promenade on a sunny day, savour an ice cream, or cool slushy, and wander down the wooden pier, with glimpses of the sea beneath your feet, or enjoy fresh cockles and mussels or a burger when the fresh air sharpens your appetite. There are rides and slides for the young ones, golf for the older ones, and plenty of gaming machines if that's your fancy.
On a rainy day, hurry down to the end of the promenade huddled under your umbrella, and out of the wet and windy weather. You can easily spend the day, along with a fair amount of money on the entertainmen, especially if you have little ones, but hey, your on holiday, and the sun will come out tomorrow.
