Review of Sandown Pier

Sandown Pier
Reviewed 3 weeks ago via mobile

Old fashioned pier, free to enter, large amusement arcade with lots of different games for everyone, mini golf and a cafe. Outside helter skelter, bumper cars & a couple of other childrens rides. Spent around half an hour here. Another snack shop selling fresh hot doughnuts & treats. Old fashioned face peep hole boards here too. There is an area to fish as well here. Toilets were a big let down had to pay 20p to enter and there was a bag of rubbish on the floor and they smelled - should definitely have been free or tokens given to visitors to the pier so they can get free access.

Visited the pier for a bite to eat and a hour or so on the machines.
The place is in dire need of a refurb to be honest but the machines were still good fun. The new space invaders game was brilliant.
The crazy golf is great fun and well worth the money.
The bowling is fun but seemed to jam up a lot and needed to get staff to send the balls back up to use again.
Had food in the cafe which was average.

My big grumble is having to pay to go to the toilet. 20pence is ridiculous for a smelly and disgusting facility.
If you want to charge then at least make the toilets respectable.
This is just pure greed by the piers owners.

All in all a fun time but let down by the poor toilet facilities.

It was free to get on and there was a strong wind so it was a quick turnaround and back into shelter
