Fab. We go every time we visit the island. Food is lovely. Staff are welcoming. Would recommend the steak or gammon. Nice view if sat outside.

“Brilliant everytime ignore all the bad reviews”

I have been coming to legends before it moved to Sandown, it has always been a brilliant restaurant and I can't keep away, I enjoy the concept of the black Rock cooking as you get to choose the level your meat is cooked, it's perfect and if you don't want to do it yourself then simply order a burger etc

“17th August..a nice place”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

Came here for dinner for my boyfriend's birthday on the 17th, and liked the experience, however on reflection the menu of The Reef next door looked much more interesting than the menu in Legends, which we both agreed was more of a lunchtime venue, as the evening menu seemed to be just an array of rock cooked steaks, burgers and seafood dishes. Little variety but couldn't knock the quality of food, which was excellent.
When I rang up to book, I asked for a table outside weather permitting. On arrival we were told a table outside and one inside had been reserved for us to choose from which was great. However, my boyfriend wanted his steak cooked before it arrived, as he has it very well done and to cook it himself on a 'hot rock' would have meant that he would only start eating halfway through my meal. We asked if it could be cooked before hand but as the chef apparently didnt do this, he had to have a burger instead.
Contrary to this, the view was beautiful from the restaurant and the staff were smiley and very helpful. We would most likely try again in the future for a lunch meal out, but we wouldn't be keen to come here for an evening meal again unless the menu in future displays more variety.

“Good with a serving of unexpected”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

As with all the restaurants on the promenade the views are spectacular, the staff friendly and the food of an equally high standard. What's missing then? Self service aside, nothing yet for some reason it feels like it's off a beat, not that you'll be out of step with all that it has going for it because it really is one if the better eateries out of many in close proximity and worth a second visit just to enjoy the memorabilia.
