We have been to this hotel a few times now and the standards are still good. The food not fancy but well served by very cheerfull staff all three courses are needed though. We had as usual a seaview room well worth the extra money still a bit disapointed no proper showers yet but I know they are on way..

Room Tip: ask for refurb rooms

Writing this review whilst still here at the Sandringham. As I was unwell for part of our break here,it was wonderful to receive such thoughtful care from some staff;notably Adrian from the restaurant who made sure that I never went without nourishment and sent back food to the room with my husband.....and Dom at the bar...thanks for all the ice to sooth the throat!!We were due home today but opted to stay a few more days so have changed rooms...housekeeping helpful with that.Had shower room at first...very nice but needs little shower tray for soap/gel etc.TV multichannels were a godsend as room bound for a bit..excellent!Rooms great size and comfy. Food very good and service in restaurant second to none,Taylor.. You're a star! But gold stars for the whole holiday must go to Adrian..an absolute treasure and obviously a total asset to the hotel. The management must be proud of him as he works so hard. Thanks Adrian,we will return and see you soon.

The Sandringham was probably a great place for a holiday in 1965 but some serious effort needs to be put in to bring it up to date and provide value for money. Firstly, it's not cheap and by the time extras were included for the price of 3 nights we could have had a weeks all inclusive on a Greek Island. The hotel was about half full when but the car park was over following. You either have to be blocked in or be blocking someone else in. The reception provide a form with room number for you to display on the dashboard. If you find you are blocked in it's up to you to go to the persons room and ask them to move. Staff refuse to get involved. If you are blocking somebody in then the staff say you cannot leave the hotel and won't even take a mobile number if you want to go the beach (20 yards away)! The decor is very tired. There is only one small lift for the hotel and the this starts on the first floor! I had to help several elderly people with with luggage as there were no staff to help. Then when you get to your floor there are stairs between different sub levels. Common to wait 20 minutes to get served at the bar. Hot water is seriously hot and must be a safety hazard. Food in the restaurant is OK and is served with minutes of order.
Maybe I'm being a bit mean as we had a good time in the Isle of Wight but I think if British tourism is to survive it has to provide quality and value for money.

Room Tip: A lovely view from the front facing rooms.

We have just returned from 3 nights at the sandringham and have a few major issues.firstly my daughter had a very heavy buggy which she managed to struggle up the stairs from reception to the first floor for 2 days only to be told on the third day that she could access a ramp at the back of the hotel.would have been nice to have been told at checkin.
Also we waited at the bar every evening for over half an hour for a barman.no one seemed to be bothered.also on sunday when the mens final was on the barman just sat and watched the tv whilst also swearing profusely which we thought was bad.
Next their car park!! If you are lucky to find a space it mightmean you are blocking someone in.if this is the case the staff expect you to look on their dashboard, find their room noand contact them.what!! This is not the residents fault and they will not take a mobile no and expect you to stay in the hotel if you are blocking another car in.this is disgusting!!
The hotel is very understaffed and when an elderly coach party arrived no one helped them up the stairs and my husband spent quite a lot of his time to help them.the entertainment is dire and not like it was 43 years ago when I stayed here as a 14 year old.this break was very overpriced at almost £1000

Just returned from a lovely break at the sandringham hotel. The hotel itself is starting to look a bit tired, but is clean, I can not praise the staff enough, our waiter was Joe, what a very charming man, a credit to you. The meals where fine. All in all very enjoyable, thanks.

Room Tip: Ask for the upgraded bathrooms, cost a bit more but nicer.

Facing the beach and it had such a wonderful view especially at night, you feel as though you can touch the moon. Excellent breathtaking view. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The staff are excellent and go to great lengths to ensure everything need is met.
