Good value, staff were fantastic, hotel in a beautiful spot. It would have helped if the shower had a soap holder and a grab rail. It makes a big difference to have a sea front room with a balcony (although with some rooms the balcony has no dividing barrier between the respective room areas).

Room Tip: It makes a big difference having a front sea view room.

this seafront hotel is clean and in a good location in Sandown. Staff are pleasant and helpful, particularly those serving in the restaurant. The meals are good with a fair choice and breakfast was a good start to the day. We only had a basic room and found no improvement in the bathroom from our last visit - it was very dated although I believe they are upgrading rooms a few at a time. we had carpet on the bathroom floor which is very impractical and the over bath shower was a hand held spray which was only adequate to rinse my hair - i had to be very careful not to wet the carpet (no shower curtain or screen). The towels were changed every day and the room was always left clean and tidy.

Room Tip: if you are prepared to pay more for an updated room then it may be a good idea. check if the bath ahs a shower curtain and if the shower is a proper one or only hand held

We stayed at this very pleasant sea front hotel between 21st to 25th February 2014. Having found the original family room we were allocated did not really suit our needs (although like all other rooms and areas it was spotlessly clean and well furnished) the staff could not have been more obliging in finding a replacement.

The meals were always of good choice and quality. The restaurant staff were attentive, professional and always smartly turned out. Mealtimes. were very flexible and customer friendly

The Sandringham has a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere and caters for the energetic (great pool, sauna and jaquzzi) and those who just want to relax. Evening entertainment was provided on most nights with a very good musical duo.

What was not quite so good was paying at the bar. (Through no fault of the very obliging barstaff) The hotel has no system of putting drinks on your room bill or totting up a bill to pay it in one go at the end of the night. The bar is quite expensive so you can quickly run out of cash. If you pay for your drinks via a card it resulted in the barperson having to leave the bar to go downstairs to the reception to collect a card processor. As soon as you have completed the transaction the barperson disappears downstairs again to return the card. This can happen several times a night. When several people choose to pay by card it can become quite farcical.

Other than that minor issue this is an excellent value for money family hotel in a good location and well woth a visit

Room Tip: Sea Views at the front

A lovely time had at this hotel over looking the sea and in a great location. Also like to compliment the staff who would go out of there away for you and always happy to help especially Lloyd. The food was up to a very high standard and plenty of choice.also very good value for money.

Room Tip: The bathroom suite was a bit old fashioned as they are upgrading the rest of them at the moment.

A pleasant time was had at this hotel with ample parking, and is adjacent to the local bus routes and shops, With good food and pleasant staff who were helpful and seemed to always have a smile and a greeting.

Room Tip: take a sea view room for views and quietness
