“Happy Tummy”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

We (4 adults ) arrived on Friday 26th July to a very friendly welcome and an offer to take our luggage to our rooms. The rooms were large...clean and tidy...and had a really big and more than adequate on-suite shower room. The position of the Hotel was perfect for either catching public transport..walking..driving or even the Island Railway. Breakfast was great hence the title Happy Tummy..cereals..fruit..etc and the English Breakfast mmm! Tony and Debs (owners) were more than happy at any time to help and advise to any question you asked them.Overall we had a relaxed break, and shall return in the future and would recommend the hotel 100%

When we first arrived there was a warm friendly welcome from one of the new owners, Tony, who helped us to take our luggage to our room. The room was recently refurbished with all brand new furniture and bathroom with a decent shower! Bed was very comfy and a fan provided due to the hot weather. Breakfast was superb! Fresh cut fruit available or full English breakfast. Would highly recommend!

we were put here , as the original hotel, we should have been in was flooded , but I have to say we were welcomed by Tony and we were really impressed with the rooms , the décor , the beds ,en suites , it was spotless , and we even had a fan in the room as it was so hot , the hotel is a work in progress , but I am sure the rest of the place will be as good as the rooms , now to the breakfast , we were offered lots of choice , cereals fresh fruit , yoghurts , a full English / scrambled eggs & smoked salmon, ample tea and coffee , toast & jams, excellent host .

This Hotel is ideally located just a short walk down to the lovely beach + pier , lots of shops , restaurants -- perfect location -- Thanks Tony And Debbie , we wish you all the best for the future . The Mazumders .

Room Tip: we stayed in room 1 a double , and our friends stayed in room 4 a twin , both with en suites , and l...

Lovely welcoming family run business. Clean, friendly, great location and great breakfast. Amazing owners!! Comfortable bed, with a great eye for detail. Parking a little limited onsite but plenty of space on the side road.

New owners, Tony and Debs have taken over in May 12. very friendly and helpful. great breakfast. nothing is too much trouble. As noted before the decor is tired. but once they slow down for the winter they will be redecorating and bringing everything up to date for the next season. we are looking forward to going back next year.

I went to Sandown with my husband and two children. The hotel is dated as others have also pointed out. The shower room is very small, no room to dab dry after shower let alone getting dressed and we are of average built. The hotel is situated on a main road which is extremely busy ad hence very noisy. I could not fall asleep (kept tossing and turnig all night but the zooming of the vehicles did not stop all night) the night that I stayed there. Even my older daughter kept waking up.Closing the windows did not help at all and the windows are so old that i had a tough time figuring how they work and i doubt they do. I had to literally hold them up and see if it made any difference to the noise from outside. The rooms were very warm, no fan. To make matters worse they have the most uncomfortable spring mattresses that we have ever slept on. The TV did not work but we never bothered as we had bigger problems on hand. When we told the owners about the noise problem they pretended as if they don't know about it and that it was an exceptionally busy night on the road outside. I wonder what was so special about that night?! We had booked them for two nights but were compelled to move to another hotel the next morning. Luckily we found one!
Breakfast was the only saving grace and that it is not too far from the beach.

Room Tip: Do not take the family rooms!
