We arrived at the Parkbury at 9:15pm on 29th August 2011, traffic and ferry delays prevented our Coach Party arriving earlier. The welcome from all the staff (management too) was so warm and freindly, our meals were served immediately and were of excellent quality.
Throughout our week long stay we found the accomadation ,food ,service at all levels to be of a very high standard. It was obvious that the whole team were happy to work together at all times to ensure the ,comfort of the residents. We would therefore highly reccommend this Hotel and would take this opportunity to say a big thank you the Parkbury for all they did to make our stay so memorable.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Parkbury with Grand Uk holidays and cannot understand what some people have had to moan about. Nikki the manager was always cheerful and helpful, as were all the staff. Our room was great, on the ground floor, next to our disabled friend and couldn't have been better. Our expelair fan didn't work but we reported it and it was mended at once.
The breakfasts were lovely, plenty of choice and HOT! and the evening meals were brilliant,
my husband is a very fussy eater, but even he found the menus to his liking,
We loved the old liner theme of the hotel and were amused at the different notices on the doors throughout the hotel, To get to our rooms, we had to go through the First class passengers only door, and felt very honoured!
We had some good nights in the bar area with the entertainment, bar prices reasonable and entertainment a good laugh. Also there are two lovely lounges if you you want to relax with a book or just be quiet away from everything. We would certainly go back to the hotel, we had a lovely stay and I think some of the people writing reviews are just nit picking. Do they spend all their time in their rooms? they seem to find fault with everything. As long as you have a clean comfy bed to sleep in, good food what more do you want. Some people are always looking for something to moan about, to my mind they should stay at home and be miserable with each other, not give the wrong impressions and put people off who want to enjoy themselves.
Keep up the good work Nikki you are doing a great job.

Room Tip: Rooms looking out onto the swimming pool area are quieter, but the hotel is away from a lot of the traffic

I really cannot understand what some people are moaning about. We arrived here on Saturday afternoon and the Manager Nikki could not have been more polite and helpful, The room was great and the dinner was very acceptable and reasonably priced. The bonus was a Singer/Guitarist who entertained the guests in the evening. Breakfast was good and I could not fault the service. Nikki, you are a hard worker and deserve credit for the way you run the hotel

Hotel just opened after winter "refurb", were pleasantly surprised in view of many negative reviews. Stayed 3 nights on coach break with Sunrise Direct. Hotel has character, rooms light and airy, staff pleasant and helpful, food pretty good - even the sausages weren't that bad - economy type but quite edible!! Varied menu, always hot. It all depends on what you expect!! Would quite happily stay again.
