West Freuchies Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #6 of 19 Blairgowrie B&B and Inns
Reviewed 20 December 2013

If you were to use a word to describe my at West Freuchies it would have to be excellent . From the minute you are greeted by Oliver and Eileen until you leave you will have a very memorable experience... indeed you will be spoilt as there is no other B+B that will ever live up to the high standards of West Freuchies. I was over Deer Stalking in Glengarry for 3 days and being able to safely store my rifle with them and get my wet gear dried was invaluable . The rooms are lovely and warm and clean with a comfortable sitting area . The breakfast is delicious and if you really want to indulge yourself a homemade evening meal is something to savour . From homemade jams and breads to meals , wonderful views , comfortable accommodation and friendly hosts it's a must.

I stayed at West Freuchies with my dad and my brother. We were on a hunting trip. It was the most perfect base for our trip. The scenery was amazing, our rooms very relaxing and the beds too.

Oliver and Eileen were very good hosts. Eileen took very good care of us hungry man! The food was really amazing! We really felt at home.

Not only made Eileen us breakfast and dinner; she also made us a really nice lunch every day.

I would highly recommend you this accomodation!

The best B&B we have come across - would certainly go back and can strongly recommend. Eileen and Oliver made us feel very welcome and kindly provided us with two evening meals as well as breakfast. The food was delicious - and we particularly liked the emphasis on home made and quality local and Scottish produce. Thanks for everything! Hope to see you again soon.

As we drove along the 'windy road' to Blacklunans, we were astounded by the countryside and completely shocked to come across the pheasants, though we shouldn't have been. We turned onto the driveway for West Freuchies and parked our car. We were greeted by Eileen who was most welcoming and who 'showed us the ropes'. We were given a lovely cup of tea and a slice of delicious homemade fruit loaf and then showed to our room. Wow! Super comfortable and huge bed with all the amenities one could possibly wish for, including a wonderful power shower.

We were asked if we wanted to have dinner in the evening as Eileen and Oliver had to accommodate walkers who were partaking of the 'Cateran Trail'. Our dinner on the first evening was absolutely delicious. A wonderful night's sleep in an extremely comfortable bed, was followed by an outstanding breakfast; I had Smoked Haddock and Poached Egg and my hubby had a full Scottish Breakfast. We were served by Oliver and Eileen at dinner and breakfast with local produce, (their own free range eggs) and homemade bread.

On the second day of our stay, we saw some delightfully, cute Red Squirrels having their breakfast as we were finishing ours, my hubby spent at least 45 minutes taking photos. This Bed and Breakfast is in the ideal place for an extremely quiet, relaxing holiday - away from it all. It's so peaceful and the views are simply stunning.

We would like to say a very big "thank you" to Oliver and Eileen for a truly wonderful and memorable stay at the glorious West Freuchies. We will definitely be going back (if we're allowed to) and can't recommend this delightful 'little piece of heaven' enough.

Michael and Shiralee Keane.

I have spent 3 nights at West Freuchies,a jewel in the cosy Glen Isla.I have used this b&b as my base for the Cateran Trail experience.Wonderful accomodation and even better meals for dinner, wisely cooked by Eileen. Thanks to these features it would deserve a 5 star rating, but the beauty of this place is far bigger. Two lovely owners that enchanted me with their stories about my beloved Scotland and their lifes.Pick up and drop off service around the Cateran trail. In three words:BEST ACCOMODATION EVER!!! Thank you Oliver,Thank you Eileen..hope to seeing you again one day.=)

We stayed here 1 night on a short break in Glen Isla. Did a bit of walking on the nearby Cateran Trail too. Very friendly reception upon arrival from Aileen and her husband. They made us feel right at home with a nice cup of tea and home-made cake. Room was excellent and comfortable, indeed the whole place is immaculately kept. Very comfortable night followed by a first-class breakfast with made from quality local Scottish produce. All this for a very reasonable price. I would heartily recommend this to anyone who's thinking of staying in this area.

From the moment we arrived at the B&B we felt at home. The bedroom was very spacious and luxurious. Diner, prepared by Eileen, was restaurant-class and better even. Oliver showed us a nice diversion to the Cateran Trail which made the hike an even greater experience. The pick-up/drop-off service is appreciated very much.
