Just back from a fantastic 4 night break staying in the luxury lodge The Larches in Blairgowrie Holiday Park. From travelling through bad snow we reached Blair in good time to find the sun shining and the snow not as bad as we had feared it might be. We got into our Lodge early which was great and my 4 year old daughter loved the play park on site. There are 2 play areas - one for younger kids - a play boat and another park up beside our lodge which is probably for older kids. As our stay was out of season in March, the holiday park was very quiet. Now the lodge - was just perfect. Huge space, very comfortable and very well kitted out with everything you could need. I forgot my coffee maker and there was a coffee pot in the lodge which was my godsend!
The living area was lovely and spacious, with a dining table and very good kitchen. The heating was great and we needed it as it was so winter like! Two bathrooms, one with bath/shower and the other with a walk in shower unit. Bedrooms comfortable with good wardrobe space. Washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen too, all cooking utensils etc of a very high standard.
The hot tub was amazing too! The guy's onsite came and showed us now to work it and they came along every morning to clean it and make sure it was all working as it should be.
The accommodation was very clean and fresh - have no complaints at all about any aspect of our stay at the holiday park. Having a great lodge made the holiday special as I was staying with my parents and my brother - so we all had plenty of room and enjoyed eating out for my mum's 65th birthday at a lovely restaurant in Blair called Little's.
Blairgowrie has plenty of shops, cafe's, restaurants and take-away. We had a chippy take away delivered to the lodge from Peking Palace. the walk along the riverside was so lovely in the sunshine, although freezing!
Good location to visit Perth etc, went to scone palace which was worth the visit and has a good maze there, as well as a shop/cafe and kids play area.
All in all, this was a fantastic family break away and I would recommend this park. It is very quiet with nothing on-site (ie no club, shop etc). The reception is open throughout the day and the staff are very helpful in recommending places to eat/walk etc. There is a scotmid store just 2 mins walk from the holiday park which was ideal, just down Hatton Rd.
We saw lots of rabbits around the Lodge, along with lovely birds and also red squirrels eating from the bird feeder of the neighbouring Lodge.
Thank you for a lovely break, I do hope to return again!
