Last-minute visit for a night away, when all our usual suspects on the west coast and Skye were booked. Beautiful spot in the heart of Perthshire, friendly, professional staff, large comfortable room, excellent food. Old-fashioned in the best way.

Stayed for a couple of days break, As you approach the hotel driving up the incline of the driveway it just looks beautiful. Inside such quant decor and plush quality public rooms, It has a tranquil atmosphere inside and out. We stayed in a suite which was both comfortable and spacious. No mini bar or coffee making facilities but did bother me.

The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant was wonderful. The grounds were peaceful and relaxing and take a walk up to the walled garden for a perfect haven in which to relax.

I will return. Well done

A tastefully extended Scottish country house meeting most of our requirements for a relaxing stay. Food and service top notch with comfortable and spacious rooms. Really, the only negative is the lack of an overhead shower which seems a little primitive nowadays.

It is well worth taking time to visit the walled garden which is in the process of being renovated. The gardener is a delight to talk to.

Stayed here for my husband's birthday. Had booked it with an itison voucher and for once it was hardly mentioned and made no difference to the service, room or meal choices. Met at the door by very nice gentleman who took our bags, signed us in and took us to our lovely superior room. We were shown the dinner menu which had no vegetarian option for myself. No problem within 10 minutes a vegetarian menu was delivered. After we had settled in went for a look round the hotel, every member of staff we met very nice and courteous. Had a drink in the conservatory which was great overlooking the view at the front of the house. At dinner part of the deal was a glass of champagne, again when we came down staff knew this and without having to ask, champagne was brought to us with some canapes, all but 1 was vegetarian so very nice they had remembered. We were then taken through to the dining room. Meals were excellent I had chosen the leek and cheese pancakes, which were really lovely and tasty. Staff very attentive without being intrusive.

All in all one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, was made to feel very special, which I sometimes don't feel when using vouchers. Would definitely return

We purchased a voucher for our stay at this lovely hotel. Picturesque setting, beautifully furnished, very comfortable and excellent staff & service (until we checked out). We had a very enjoyable stay - superb food & service at dinner and breakfast within the restaurant. Our stay was flawless with the exception of one tiny issue, which became worse once we followed up by email.

On arrival, we noticed that there were no in room tea and coffee facilities - not a big deal, but we were surprised given the high quality standard of the remainder of the hotel. On reading the hotel information booklet, however, we saw that we could order tea/coffee to our room for the morning, which we duly did. There was no mention of any charge for this.

Our tea arrived as ordered and we continued to have a lovely breakfast prior to checkout. On receiving our final bill at checkout, I was surprised to see that we had been charged for our early morning tea - £8. I mentioned this to the lady at reception and got little response so grudgingly paid the bill in full.

Thinking further about this, I followed up with an email to the hotel detailing the above and very quickly received the following response:

"Everything included in this 50% discount deal is detailed in the offer provided. Hotels that offer free tea and coffee have this factored into their room price. Sadly nothing is free"

So there you have it - a lovely stay in what really is a 5* hotel with (in my view) zero star handling of a tiny complaint from a guest - and all for £8. We won't be back and sadly would not recommend this hotel to others - principally because of the way in which our tiny complaint was handled.
