“Walking and Geocaching Highland Perthshire.”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

The Cateran Trail passes through the village I live in. My favourite part of the Trail is from Bridge of Cally - Kirkmichael - Enochdhu - Spittal of Glenshee.

Apart from passing through some wonderful Scottish countryside, the trail also has Geocaches all along the circular trail for any Geocaching enthusiasts.

Also there is now a Cateran Trail GeoTour where you can collect point on a Cateran Trail GeoTour passport by visiting certain Geocaches and various shops and Hotels on the trail. The points go towards getting a free Bronze Geocoin or an antique Silver Cateran Trail GeoTour geocoin.

Full details here: http://www.caterantrail.org/geocaching

Although well marked with trail posts, this is a serious walking trail and boots and all weather clothing is essential for parts of this trail.

I was the first person to be awarded the silver antique Cateran Trail GeoTour Geocoin.

“Fun...novice walkers, it took 4 hours...with 2 nibble breaks and many many photos!”
Reviewed 20 July 2013

The beginning of the 1st part of the trail smells like urine, which is such a shame, as you can't enjoy it properly!

The rest is fun!

“Some stunning views to take in on this lovely walk”
Reviewed 20 July 2013

This was my first relatively long distance walk. I walked the traditional clockwise route from Blairgowrie. Days 2,3 and 4 were far superior in terms of the quality of the walk and the scenery. The last day from Alyth was a bit of a slog with too much walking on tarmac for my liking. The walk from Kirkmichael to Glenshee is absolutely stunning - it's only 8 miles but take your time and have regular stops to take in the scenery.

“Stunning views and weather”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

If you are thinking of doing this trail then what are you waiting for? Fantastic walks and stunning scenery. Did this trail in stages and loved it. My favourite aspects were Auchintaple Loch and also the walk from Enochdu to Spittal of Glenshee. If you like walking then this is a must.
