We were met in the car park by Mark the owner and given a warm welcome. Spent a couple of nights in March with our small dog in one of the coach houses. Room was extremely comfortable, warm and cosy on a dry but very cold and windy weekend. The huge bath was superbly relaxing after a long days walking. Dining service and Food at the hotel was EXCELLENT! Dining room overlooked the hotel garden which is beautiful with ducks waddling around and rabbits hopping about. During our stay we walked up the Gynack hill and on the way down went around the loch side trail, took around 4 hours.

Spent two nights here and from the welcome to the morning we left we felt like more friends that guests, the welcome from Mark and his wife was wonderful. The hotel is a real gem in the highlands and if you want the personal touch with the professional service at a fair price this is for you.

The location is great for the cairngorm mountains and the surrounding areas

What we must recommend is the food it is a small menu but when you taste the food you will understand everything is cooked fresh to your liking it was amazing.

We will be back think you

My wife, dog and I were in need of a getaway; we located this hotel (pet-friendly) via booking.com. What a fantastic find! Wonderful little inn in a quiet setting in Kingussie, which was not overrun with tourists and a lovely town itself. The hotel was a 19th century building refurbished into a series of individually decorated rooms; we enjoyed a four-poster with a large bathroom. The common area of the hotel consisted of a comfortable dining room and bar, a 'library' area (with wifi) and lovely garden with multiple picnic tables; our dog was welcome there. The proprietor, Mark, was a great host and an excellent cook as well - we heartily recommend the Steak & Ale pie! We hope to get a chance to return someday; this is a wonderful hotel worthy of a repeat visit.

My partner and I booked a dinner bed and breakfast stay at the hotel when we seen a deal on a voucher website at the end of 2013. The reviews are well founded to say the least. We were welcomed by Yolanda and given a tour of the hotel before being shown to our wonderful room, which was clean, well stocked and housed a wonderful 4 poster bed. We then had dinner in the restaurant, which was again tasty. We spoke with the proprietor and chef Mark who was great host. I can see that they have only taken over the hotel however if Mark continues to put his ideas into practice we will have a true home away from home!
