“Gorgeous cottage, everything you could need plus more and in a fantastic location.”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This is definitely one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. The cottage itself is gorgeous. Very modern and clean. The kitchen has everything you could need plus a lot more. There is WiFi, dvd player etc. The bedrooms are spacious with loads of hanging space. Outside there is a brilliant lawn, perfect for our toddler to run around in. You can access the veg patch for produce too if it's the right time of year. The lovely owners are very welcoming whilst still giving you privacy. The wine and homemade bread was a lovely touch. In terms of location you couldn't want more. We visited landmark, wildlife Park, steam train, mountain railway, ospreys, folk museum and did the wildcat trail (hugely recommend the last two attractions). We will definitely be back!

“Very high quality cottage - thoroughly recommended”
Reviewed 25 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We arrived having spent the previous week in another very nice cottage and as our teenage son put it, Sundowner knocked spots off it. It's ideal for a holiday cottage - spacious, very well equipped, extremely comfortable and just invites you to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Everything is in place for you, with all the essentials provided (including dishwasher tablets and washing powder) through to real treats (a home made loaf, a bottle of wine to greet us and salad and vegetables from the garden). A glorious week which we have thoroughly enjoyed - thank you.

“Practical but stylish cottage on a beautiful site in a great location”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

First impression of the interior was very pleasing - a spacious, spotlessly clean and good looking main apartment with bedrooms to match. Familiarity only enhanced this impression. Every detail was pleasing from the quality bedding, the cooking pots and casseroles (all sizes!) and comfortable suite to the heating system and WiFi: and all in working order.
And if they hadn't been, Julie and John, most attentive and sensitive hosts, were always on hand to help. They have developed this site beautifully. The two holiday cottages are semi-detached but designed to give each one privacy. Easy car parking.

“The best cottages and B and B in the Cairngorms!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Sundowner and Spindrift cottages are ideal for winter or summer breaks in the Cairngorms. The cottages are part of a beautifully converted steadings, farm buildings, and although they are semi detached they are arranged so privacy and noise are not an intrusion.
The cottages comprise a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a second bedroom with two single beds and a separate bathroom.
There is an open plan living/dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is the best equipped we have encountered.
For hill walkers and bird watchers the location is ideal. Aveimore with a good supermarket is 15 miles away up the A9 and the Insh Marshes are renown for bird watching.
For walkers the cottages are close to the Cairngorms and also to a historic landmark, Ruthven Barracks. Should hillwalkers want to venture further afield, the A9 is close by which makes the journey to other areas quite speedy.
We have stayed at both Sundowner and Spindrift cottages many times over a period of 10 years. The cottages remain immaculately maintained by the delightful couple who developed them. The surrounding gardens are a delight. If leisure rather than active outdoor pursuits are your preference the comfort of the cottages and environs will not disappoint.

“Top class accommodation in a great location”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Julie and John are exceptional hosts. Their friendly welcome, home made bread and a bottle of wine make it easy to relax and feel instantly at home in Sundowner's attractive light and airy accommodation. Finished to a very high standard with some nice hand crafted touches and very comfortable it is a perfect place to unwind as well as a base for adventurous exploration. Plenty of information is available for visitors as well as books CDs and dvds and live bird nest cams on the tv adds to the interest and robust WiFi is there for those all important weather forecasts. This year two adult single speed bikes are available for use and are a great way to explore locally and pop into town. The area has something for everyone.

“Comfortable, clean cottage in great location.”

This cottage was truly a great find. It had it all and more, the owners have thought of everything, even the little things. A warm 'boot room' that had your walking gear dry for the next walk, very comfortable beds, good quality, comfortable furnishings, plenty of crockery & utensils, not the usual 4 of everything! It was all spotlessly clean ! The welcome pack with home made bread & marmalade, great views of the little lambs out of the patio window, birds & snow topped mountains, a peaceful location, bikes & table tennis, plenty to do & something for everyone. Easy to find from Inverness airport. This was our first time visiting Scotland, made so much better with everything you expect from a cottage, with great hosts. And lastly the whiskey distillery tours!!! Worth a visit, we liked the Dalwhinnie & Cardhu.

“Exceeded expectations”
Reviewed 6 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

A first class, well equipped cottage with fantastic views and in walking distance to Kingussie where there are a selection of restaurants. Location is perfect whether you want an adventure packed break or simply want to relax in the amazing scenery. The rooms are furnished and decorated to a very high standard and spotless. Julie and John could not be any more helpful and friendly and we would recommend this without reservation.
