We have just come back from our third stay at the Elmfield and, as always, we had a wonderful time. It's a special place to stay - Matt and Zoe can't do enough for you, the rooms are beautiful, everything you need, very bright and clean with lovely little touches - bottled water, lovely shampoos/ soap and very comfortable beds. A great swimming pool - basic, but warm and not too big/ deep; a fab lounge with a pull-down cinema screen to snuggle up in front to watch a DVD (a great selection of DVDs or bring your own), a nicely stocked honesty bar and lots of comfy corners/ chairs to relax and chill out in. A great breakfast - lots of fresh fruit and yoghurts and a lovely cooked breakfast - nothing is too much trouble. Ilfracombe itself is Ok with a pretty harbour, but the Elmfield is easily situated in the town to get out and about to National Trust properties, beeches (Woolocombe) and the gorgeous coast. We love it and will be back very soon!

Spent 2 nights in the family suite, it was clean and comfortable, having a separate room for the children was an added bonus. The hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the facilities to keep the children occupied was second to none. We made full use of the swimming pool and even used the lounge to watch a family movie. Breakfast was plentiful and good selection on offer. Great hotel for a family short break.

I've stayed here several times, and it's got a kind of 'home away from home' atmosphere, which is cemented by the wonderful hosts Zoe & Matt. You'll get caught up in the snug bar while planning you're next blustery amble across cliff and field before returning to the Elmfield or other wonderful local eateries for a hearty meal. Myself being somewhat pernickety - the place is spotless and the beds and bed linen divine (loved the scent of the geranium shower gel). Topped off with a swimming pool, excellent after a long hard walk and a well earned tipple - enjoy! I'll be back again.

We also just got back from a 3 night Easter stay. We were made to feel extremely welcome and relaxed by Zoe after long journey from London. Hotel and rooms were immaculate. Breakfasts were awesome! Would highly recommend staying here as great point to explore Ilfracombe and surrounding area - again thanks to Zoe's local knowledge.

Just got back from a 3 night Easter break, upon arrival we were welcomed by Zoë and shown up to our room which was a good size with en suite and very clean.
Over the bank holiday we enjoyed the facilities of the Elmfield, like the use of the lovely warm swimming pool complete with towels, local knowledge of eateries, places to visit and not forgetting the bar and breakfasts. Zoë was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The Elmfield was a great base for our visit to the area and we would love to return.

We stayed two nights over Easter for a wedding and had a very comfortble stay. We were going to leave very early before breakfast, to speed up our travel, but could not resist waiting for breakfast. It is so good. Fresh fruit, fresh juice (not out of a can), hot berries for the yoghurt as well as full English breakfast if required.
The young couple who run this place really put in the extra effort. The Torrs walk that starts just above the hotel was fabulous.
I’m a hotelier too. So I know when the owners are going that extra mile.

We booked out this hotel and our host, Zoe, could not have done more to make our time here, and that of our guests, nothing short of fantastic. Great al la carte breakfast, brilliant swimming pool, SOOOOOO much space to relax. Thank you, you helped make our wedding. X
