Came here as a group for a Friday to Monday break , as we were shooting we booked the apartment as it has a gun safe , we also booked three single rooms.
All the rooms and the apartment were clean tidy and comfortable.
The food was really nice and plenty of it, the bar is also well stocked.
if your hungry try the Beast its like a man v food challenge I can also recommend the 16oz steak.
Richard and his staff are great and very helpful.
Thank you we all really enjoyed our stay and we shall definitely be coming back.

Top tip if you are staying ask about getting a resident discount card it can save on your food and drink bill..

We stayed as a couple over Easter and paid extra for a sea view room, which did not include breakfast. I must admit I was disappointed in the room, as it was shabby and in need of re-decorating and a new carpet. The bathroom was a small 'cupboard' with shower, basin and toilet and there was mould around the base of the shower cubicle, with no hot water on one of the mornings for a shower. The location of the hotel and view of the harbour was great, but somewhat marred by the dirt and dust all around the windowsills!

I appreciate it is an old hotel, but still think cleanliness and decoration could be improved.

Room Tip: Sea view, but be prepared to pay extra!

Their website doesn't really do it justice, but this hotel has a great position over the harbour, which makes for lovely views.

We chose this hotel because it's great value and it's close to The Tunnels, where we were visiting for a wedding.

The family who runs the hotel gave us a really warm welcome, and couldn't do enough for us.

The website really does the hotel an injustice - definitely needs an update with stronger images of the sea views and outside terrace.

It was a really clean hotel, with a good range of room facilities. Thanks for making us feel so welcome! - Hannah & George.

Just returned from 3 night break at the Royal Britannia Hotel, Have to say we loved it! friendly place owners and locals! we had a harbour view room which was fantastic, bed was very comfy and good shower. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, good selection of drinks in the bar, food menu also has a good choice and was very good. in summary this is a lovely old Harbour hotel with lots of tradition and character NOT a modern posh over priced Hotel, parking is just up the road and really not a problem, The town is a short walk away, I would recommend to anybody wanting pub like atmosphere!

I will return.

Was really surprised at quality of The Royal Britannia for the price we paid. The bedroom was really quaint and cosy with a bathroom with a jacuzzi bath (LOVED!) a toilet, a little sofa area with a TV and plenty of tea and coffee.
We attended a family party nearby and thought we would make the most of being child free and book a Hotel. So glad we chose to stay here.
We took advantage of the late check out and went for a stroll down the nearby pier and harbour area. We will definitely choose to stay here again!!

Thr Royal Britannia Hotel is an historical hotel where Lord Nelson and Royalty stayed in the past and when you walk down the hallway it feele like stepping back in time
The rooms are modern with en-suites and creature comforts
Staff friendly and the hotel is relaxed so they dont rush you when checking out
the three bed room appartment is good for groups of up to 8 people

Resturant serves varied meals from home cooked curries to superp steakes at very competative prices

Room Tip: Try the Big Beast Burger if you can eat a lot
