“Simply Breathtaking!”
Reviewed 7 August 2011

Ever heard of Lee Bay? nope! nor had we.....

If you are skimming through reviews, please take the time to read this.

How did you know you had a good holiday? When you feel like you left part of yourself behind! Your heart!

If you love the adventure and exploration like we do, then this will surely rank as one of your most memorable holidays.

The Sea/Bay viewable from Campscott!

Seek out the secret garden in Lee Bay, just out of this world!

Go to Smugglers Cottage on the bay and have some coffee cake (I paid for 1qtr of it to take back with me)

Find all the secret coves and bays while the tide is out! To the left of Lee Bay, walk round the rocks when the tide is out, Trust me! Its like a scene from Indiana Jones!

We had the Blues so hard its taken us nearly a month to write the review due to work and such - normal life, which quite honestly is not the same without Campscott and Lee Bay's finest coffee shop!! We will be going back, we now want to move to the area.

The Accommodation: Absolutely first class A+++!

Extremely pretty, idyllic setting. Our cottage was beautiful, every amenity you would need (we could have cooked a full roast diner with all the appliances/cutlery and cooking equipment) Quiet, comfortable, we were so sad to leave!!

The Hosts: Tony & Kathy were lovely, helpful and thoughtful. Tony waited up for us to arrive through a downpour of rain (which cleared up by the way, had no more rain while we were there!) We were very jealous that they have this lifestyle, and that we had to leave them behind.

There are two horses outside - take some fruit and feed them, dont let the big one steel it all! distract him while you feed the small one!

If I could post pictures I would, however I want this to be as special for you as it was for us, and I wouldnt want to ruin the surprise for you, pure magic awaits!

If you would like to reach me, Tony has my email address from our booking, and I am happy to provide further testament that this was heaven! I just dont think ive done this justice, I could go on forever! but perhaps I should employ a therapist for that.....!

10/10

Have fun and enjoy!

Found this place by accident and we found it to be A1 place to stay. Tony and Kathalene who run the place (changed hands last year we think) have done well to improve this farm to a top place to stay. The cottage we stayed was cosy with plenty of things to do, with a short trip to Ilfracombe for shops etc. Plenty of peace, really dark skies at night where we saw the milky way - something we have not seen for years. Would go back in the next few years but booking early is advisable, we got the last cottage by chance as someone cancelled - gem of a place that only a few know about it but net making it easier to discover we think.
