Went to this hotel on. Rock n roll weekend. Friendly staff and manager talented guy.. Food was a but sparse! The place needs a facelift. Fine for a weekend but would not want to stay any longer. Great karaoke system if you like to sing.

Thanks nasherc for your review, we as a hotel thoroughly enjoyed having your party stay here for the weekend. We have been especially happy to receive some very positive reviews and feedback from other members of your party. We are though a little confused and upset to read in your review that you describe the food as being a bit sparse! All our guests are given a full menu at each meal (Breakfast & Dinner) at evening meal you are given a choice of 3 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts plus coffee, we are usually praised for the quality of food we offer and also of its quantity not the opposite! Your comments regarding the hotel needing a facelift is also a little upsetting but accept that the likes/dislikes of decor is someones personal opinion, and based on their own personal taste. Our hotel is a Victorian building and we feel it lends itself to being kept furnished with that in mind, we do however take on board the needs of todays traveller and try to mix the two together, although we do appreciate we're not always going to please everyone. We are constantly looking at ways to improve the furnishings in the hotel and have recently had both the bar and foyer refurbished and had the bedrooms painted and new duvets, throws, cushions and accesories added. This closed season these improvements will continue and hopefully if you revisit the hotel you will be able to see them for yourself.

Been staying with the Cox family at the Osborne for fair number of years, with a group of friends the number of which has increased year on year as word of mouth comments with others has led to more joining us,and for very good reason. The hotel is as good as being at home with your own family and having a great party, from the minute you arrive you are welcomed as part of their own family, the staff are great where ever you go in the hotel,as they are treated as part of the Cox family as well, and are the same members that have been there year after year we've stayed there. This alone says a lot more than words can about the any hotel. Good food, good bar and great evenings all make a great time if you go away to enjoy yourself. Looking forward too next years stay there already.

If you go here expecting to have a 5 star room you will be disappointed. Bedrooms are dated as are other areas of the hotel. However, if this is all you focus on you will miss much of the charm of the hotel as well as the most important and attractive feature of the hotel, which is the owners and staff. Most guests seemed to be on coach tours, but we came as a family of four for a short break. We came with our car and bikes and the owners very helpfully let us keep the car and bikes in the garage. Indeed, for a group of cyclists, this hotel would make a great base with its garage. The service and welcome were really good - a big effort was made here that you just don't get in chain hotel where the staff change every few weeks. We stayed half board. Again, the food won't win prizes, but it was good old fashioned English food (roasts and fish and chips) which was fine after a day out and was very good value as compared to just bed and breakfast. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Thank you so much to Nick and his fantastic team for a truly FANTASTIC weekend away with Shrewsbury Male Voice Choir!! I have never been anywhere where we were made to feel so welcome and part of the family. Even staying up half way through the night and entertaining those of us still left in the bar with his great sense of humour, wit and song!! Thank you Nick!! Hope the glitter has gone now! We would all love to come again.

WOW - WHAT A WEEKEND!
We have just held our 10th annual Rock & Roll weeked at The Osborne which was a new venue for us this year.
Our thanks for a cracking weekend go to Nick, Sue, Sandy, Stuart, Yvette and all the staff behind the scenes - not forgetting the "case girls" - for their very warm welcome and hard work. All of our members had a wonderful weekend and could not praise the rooms, food and service enough. The whole weekend went without a hitch and everyone had a fantastic time. We will defintely be back in the future as this was our best weekend ever! Thank you all.

We would like to thank Nick and everyone at The Osborne Hotel for the excellent service and attendance doted on us.We had some-one with us who was just out of hospital and had to use a wheelchair.Nothing could be faulted, we were looked after 100% of the time.Food and sleeping facilities were excellent and our every request was catered for, there was a disabled shower in the bedroom which was very useful and at night we all slept comfortably and soundly .
