we were recomended this restaurant by the manager of la gendarmerie, but were unable to reserve a table due to them being very busy on the night requested, we did however get to enjoy a nice bottle of wine & some nibbles the following afrternoon in the sunshine, and was very dissapointed we diddnt get to try the full menu, hopefully next time!

Popped in here twice over the weekend just gone. Nice cosy corner of Ilfracombe. Pleasant staff nice wine and good atmosphere. It's a shame it doesn't stay open much later but that's probably because I didn't want to move

We wanted to eat close to our B+B. Reviewed some of the restaurants in the area and chose Espresso because of the fresh seafood. We were pleased with the food and service. We would go back there on our next visit.

Freshest seafood, Lovely atmosphere outside, casual but special feeling. The staff were very helpful but didn't hassle us. The sticky crab went down such a treat, as did the clams, lobster, rillettes and prawns.
Desert , 2 glasses of sancerre and 2 beers were just over £90.00 Still dreaming of that yummy crab a week later. We shall return!!!
